Horizon – the first approved flight school in Switzerland

Flight Schools were always very popular, they still are popular and will probably always be. One of the dream jobs of every kid is to fly an airplane one day. But there are only very few people also realizing this “dream” they once had back when they were little boys or girls. According to Horizon, the Swiss Flight School, flying should not remain a dream. The Pilot Training offered by Horizon is one of the most advanced concepts on the market. It combines the original aircraft with a D-SIM42 Twin Star Simulator.

The aircraft offers a carbon composite airframe, twin jet fuel burning TAE Centurion 2.0 turbo-diesel engines and a fully integrated Garmin G1000 glass flight deck. With all this, the DA42 Twin Star is the undisputed technology leader in its class. The fuel consumption of the aircraft is divided into half, while it still maintains an impressing performance as well as an outstanding low noise level. The outstanding visual system of the simulator makes training an enjoyable experience. What else is offered by Horizon Swiss Flight Academy? There is Flight Training, Simulator Training, Classroom Courses, Distance Learning as well as E-Learning Tools. Horizon’s Pilot School can also be attended just for the pleasure of learning something completely new. Therefore the academy offers a Private Pilot Theoretical Course.

The course takes place in the evening and on weekends (Tuesday and Thursday evening, plus Saturday morning) and offers a lot of interesting benefits such as a compact, short course duration” (usually not more than two months) and a flexible handling of course modules (the modules have to be completed during a timeframe of four months). Fees for the course material are not yet included. The examinations at the end of the course can be performed in several languages, such as French, Italian as well as German. At the PPL level the examinations can not be written in English. Instead, English speakers can perform a CPL examination while skipping the PPL theoretical exam.
