\u201eDie Corona-Pandemie zwingt uns alle, neue Wege zu gehen \u2013 wir haben jetzt den ersten digitalen IFAT impact Business Summit realisiert\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Stefan Rummel, Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer der Messe M\u00fcnchen. Die drei Tage des Events waren dicht gepackt mit B2B-Networking und Wissenstransfer f\u00fcr die internationale Umweltbranche. \u201eAuch 2021 wollen wir wieder digitale Formate anbieten. Zudem starten die Vorbereitungen f\u00fcr die IFAT 2022, Unternehmen k\u00f6nnen sich wieder als Aussteller anmelden\u201c.<\/p>\n

Digitale Interaktion auf vielen Ebenen<\/h2>\n

Fundament des digitalen Summit war das IFAT Ausstellerportal mit mehr als 3.000 gelisteten Unternehmen sowie ihren Produkten und L\u00f6sungen. W\u00e4hrend des Events fanden 154 Produktpr\u00e4sentationen statt und mehr als 1.400 1:1-Meetings konnten gebucht werden. Parallel dazu lief ein Konferenzprogramm mit 20 Sessions und rund 70 Speakern. Einen Gro\u00dfteil davon realisierten die Partner der IFAT sowie die IFAT-Spin-offs aus China, Indien und Afrika. Rund 2.100 Teilnehmer aus 104 L\u00e4ndern nutzten die verschiedenen Angebote des Summits.<\/p>\n

Von Joghurtbechern, Afrika-Einblicken und K\u00fcnstlicher Intelligenz<\/h2>\n

Wege zur Kreislaufwirtschaft waren ein zentrales Thema, so auch bei der L\u00f6sungstour \u201eVom Joghurtbecher zum neuen recycelten Produkt\u201c. Die Experten machten drei Top-Ma\u00dfnahmen fest: Recyclinggerechteres Design der Produkte, Sensibilisieren der Endverbraucher f\u00fcr eine bessere Vorsortierung und Quotenvorgaben seitens der (EU-)Politik, damit mehr Recyclingware in Plastikneuprodukte einflie\u00dfen kann. \u201ePlastik ist notwendig f\u00fcr unser Leben. Es fragt sich nur, wie wir damit umgehen\u201c, meinte Michael Perl von der SeSoTec GmbH.<\/p>\n

Daneben gab es zahlreiche Einblicke in internationale M\u00e4rkte, so auch zu Afrika: \u201eAfrika leidet nicht unter Wassermangel\u201c, sagte Sylvain Usher, Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer der African Water Association (AfWA). \u201eDas Problem ist, dass das Wasser aufgrund vieler Lecks oder illegaler Ausleitungen nicht beim Verbraucher ankommt. Der Kampf gegen Wasserverluste ist daher eines der zentralen Anliegen des afrikanischen Wassermanagements.\u201c<\/p>\n

Interessant auch Aussagen zur K\u00fcnstlichen Intelligenz in der Umweltbranche: \u201eDen unmittelbarsten und st\u00e4rksten Einfluss hat K\u00fcnstliche Intelligenz im Greentech-Bereich beim Management des Klimawandels und bei der Kreislaufwirtschaft\u201c, sagte Dr. Philipp Gerbert, Direktor bei appliedAI, Deutschlands f\u00fchrender Initiative f\u00fcr K\u00fcnstliche Intelligenz (KI). Allerdings m\u00fcsse die KI zun\u00e4chst ihren eigenen CO2-Fu\u00dfabdruck durch Emissionen aus dem Stromverbrauch der Rechenzentren eliminieren. Prof. Dr. Ralf Boris Wehrspohn, Vorstand bei der Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, verwies unter anderem auf die vielen potenziellen Anwendungen in der Wasserwirtschaft, sei es Online-Monitoring von Trinkwasser, wirtschaftlichere und resiliente Kl\u00e4ranlagen oder nachhaltiges Wassermanagement in St\u00e4dten.<\/p>\n
