Zum ersten Mal wird eine Bank mit dem Swiss Ethics Award ausgezeichnet. Die Alternative Bank Schweiz (ABS) zeigt, dass mit hohem ethischem Engagement erfolgreich Banking betrieben werden kann. Die sozial und \u00f6kologisch orientierte Bank wurde 1990 gegr\u00fcndet und wird heute von \u00fcber 7500 Aktion\u00e4rinnen und Aktion\u00e4ren getragen. Das Gewinnerprojekt der ABS zielt auf den Klimaschutz und zeigt die bedeutende Rolle der Finanzfl\u00fcsse auf.<\/p>\n

Der Betrieb einer Bank verursacht nur wenig direkte CO2-Emissionen. Die Geldstr\u00f6me hingegen, die von Banken verwaltet werden, haben eine massive Auswirkung.<\/p>\n

Transparenz\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die ABS hat sich mit diesem Thema befasst und zeigt auf, wie Klimaschutz im Bankgesch\u00e4ft angewandt und umgesetzt werden kann. In ihren Anlage- und Kreditrichtlinien hat sie Ausschluss- und F\u00f6rderkriterien definiert f\u00fcr Bereiche, in welche sie nicht investieren will. So werden beispielsweise Unternehmen ausgeschlossen, die massgeblich zum Klimawandel beitragen. Klimasch\u00e4dliche Branchen werden ausgeschlossen. Wertpapiere von L\u00e4ndern, die den Klimaschutz missachten und sich nicht zu den internationalen Klimazielen bekennen, werden nicht ber\u00fccksichtigt. Gef\u00f6rdert werden hingegen Gesch\u00e4ftsfelder, die eine positive Wirkung auf Gesellschaft und Umwelt erm\u00f6glichen.<\/p>\n

Als erste Schweizer Bank ver\u00f6ffentlichte die ABS 2016 den CO1-Fussabdruck ihrer Anlagen und zeigt transparent auf, wie sie mit dem Anlagegesch\u00e4ft einen Beitrag zu einer klimafreundlichen Wirtschaft leistet. F\u00fcr dieses umfangreiche Engagement im Bereich des Klimaschutzes wurde sie von der Jury mit dem Swiss Ethics Award ausgezeichnet.<\/p>\n
