Die Treibhausgasemissionen in der Schweiz beliefen sich im Jahr 2019 auf 46,2 Millionen Tonnen CO2-\u00c4quivalente, rund 0,3 Millionen Tonnen weniger als 2018. Dies geht aus dem Treibhausgasinventar des Bundesamtes f\u00fcr Umwelt (Bafu) hervor. Die Emissionen lagen damit 14 Prozent tiefer als im Basisjahr 1990.<\/p>\n

Geb\u00e4udesektor: 34 Prozent weniger Emissionen als 1990<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Treibhausgasemissionen des Geb\u00e4udesektors betrugen im Jahr 2019 erneut 11,2 Millionen Tonnen CO2-\u00c4quivalente (CO2-eq). Sie lagen damit um 34 Prozent unter dem Wert im Basisjahr 1990. Dass die Emissionen trotz k\u00e4lterem Winter gegen\u00fcber 2018 gleich hoch geblieben sind, ist vor allem auf die verbesserte Energieeffizienz von Geb\u00e4uden und den zunehmenden Ersatz von \u00d6l- und Gasheizungen durch W\u00e4rmepumpen und erneuerbare Energien zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Der starke Einfluss der Wintertemperaturen auf die Emissionen zeigt, dass der Geb\u00e4udesektor weiterhin zu einem bedeutenden Anteil mit fossilen Brennstoffen beheizt wird. Rechnet man den Effekt der Witterung heraus, zeigt sich f\u00fcr den Sektor eine Abnahme der Emissionen um rund 0,3 Millionen Tonnen pro Jahr. Dieser Trend ist zu gering, um das Reduktionsziel von 40 Prozent bis 2020 zu erreichen.<\/p>\n

Industriesektor: 14 Prozent weniger Emissionen als 1990<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Industrie stiess im Jahr 2019 11,2 Millionen Tonnen CO2-eq aus, rund 14 Prozent weniger als im Basisjahr 1990. Die Emissionen blieben damit gegen\u00fcber dem Vorjahr unver\u00e4ndert. Der Ausstoss des Industriesektors verharrt in den letzten Jahren auf relativ stabilem Niveau. Setzt sich dieser Trend fort, wird das Reduktionsziel von 15 Prozent bis 2020 verfehlt.<\/p>\n

Verkehrssektor: 1 Prozent mehr Emissionen als 1990<\/strong><\/p>\n

2019 betrug der Ausstoss des Verkehrssektors, wie bereits 2018, rund 15 Millionen Tonnen CO2-eq. Die Emissionen liegen damit weiterhin 1 Prozent \u00fcber dem Wert des Basisjahrs 1990. In den vergangenen Jahren hat zwar die Beimischung von Biotreibstoffen zugenommen; sie erreichte 2019 einen Anteil von fast 4 Prozent am gesamten Treibstoffabsatz. Auch haben effizientere Fahrzeuge zu sinkenden CO2-Emissionen pro Kilometer gef\u00fchrt. Die Zunahme der zur\u00fcckgelegten Kilometer machen diese positiven Effekte aber wieder zunichte. Bei gleichbleibendem Trend wird der Verkehrssektor das Ziel von minus 10 Prozent bis 2020 verfehlen.<\/p>\n

\u00dcbrige Emissionen: Landwirtschaft und synthetische Treibhausgase<\/strong><\/p>\n

Die Emissionen der Landwirtschaft haben gegen\u00fcber 2018 leicht abgenommen und liegen auf etwa 6,5 Millionen Tonnen CO2-eq, rund 12 Prozent tiefer als im Basisjahr 1990. Der Ausstoss synthetischer Treibhausgase, wie zum Beispiel K\u00e4ltemittel, ist gegen\u00fcber 2018 leicht gesunken und liegt 2019 bei rund 1,6 Millionen Tonnen. Seit dem 1. Januar 2019 regelt das Montrealer Protokoll 18 wichtige synthetische Treibhausgase. Mit der Umsetzung des Protokolls \u2013 auch durch die Schweiz \u2013 wird ein deutlicher R\u00fcckgang der Emissionen dieser Gase erwartet. Die vorgesehene Reduktion der \u00fcbrigen Emissionen von rund 10 Prozent bis 2020 gegen\u00fcber 1990 wird die Schweiz vermutlich dennoch nicht erreichen.<\/p>\n

Basierend auf dem Treibhausgasinventar 2019 geht das Bafu davon aus, dass die Schweiz ihr Reduktionsziel gem\u00e4ss CO2-Gesetz von minus 20 Prozent Treibhausgasausstoss bis 2020 gegen\u00fcber 1990 insgesamt verfehlen wird. Um die Emissionen deutlich zu senken, ist eine Verst\u00e4rkung der Massnahmen, wie sie das revidierte CO2-Gesetz vorsieht, unumg\u00e4nglich.<\/p>\n

Fazit<\/strong><\/p>\n

Laut Bafu verfehlt die Schweiz ihr nationales Klimaziel f\u00fcr 2020 von minus 20 Prozent Treibhausgasausstoss gegen\u00fcber 1990. Um die Emissionen deutlich zu senken, ist eine Verst\u00e4rkung der Massnahmen, wie sie das revidierte CO2-Gesetz<\/a> vorsieht, unumg\u00e4nglich.<\/p>\n
