Wasser wird immer knapper in S\u00fcdeuropa. Das ist das Fazit einer Studie von Forschenden der ETH Z\u00fcrich, die im Fachblatt &#8222;Nature Climate Change&#8220; erschienen ist. Dass es im S\u00fcden Europas bereits trockener geworden ist, h\u00e4ngt demnach mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit mit Treibhausgasemissionen und dem daraus resultierenden Klimawandel zusammen.<\/p>\n<p>Die Wissenschaftler um Lukas Gudmundsson und Sonia Seneviratne von der ETH verglichen Daten \u00fcber den Abfluss aus mehreren Hundert kleinen Fl\u00fcssen \u00fcber den Zeitraum von 1956 bis 2005 mit Klimamodell-Simulationen. Mit diesen berechneten sie, wie sich der Wasserhaushalt an Land mit und ohne Emissionen aus menschlichen Aktivit\u00e4ten im Verlauf dieser Periode entwickelt haben sollte.<\/p>\n<h2>Deutlicher Einfluss<\/h2>\n<p>&#8222;Die Simulationen mit Emissionen waren den tats\u00e4chlichen Beobachtungen deutlich \u00e4hnlicher als diejenigen, die den menschlichen Einfluss ausklammerten&#8220;, erkl\u00e4rte Gudmundsson im Gespr\u00e4ch mit der Nachrichtenagentur sda. Dass lokales Wassermanagement wie Bew\u00e4sserung oder nat\u00fcrliche Klimaschwankungen zus\u00e4tzlich beitragen, sei zwar nicht ausgeschlossen, sie k\u00f6nnten die beobachteten Trends jedoch nicht allein erkl\u00e4ren.<\/p>\n<p>&#8222;Klimamodelle sagen bis zum Ende des Jahrhunderts voraus, dass mit Fortschreiten des Klimawandels der S\u00fcden Europas trockener und der Norden feuchter wird&#8220;, sagte Gudmundsson. &#8222;Unsere Ergebnisse verleihen diesen Vorhersagen noch mehr Gewicht: Diese Trends sind nicht nur bereits sichtbar, sondern sie gehen nachweislich auf menschliche Einfl\u00fcsse zur\u00fcck.&#8220;<\/p>\n<h2>Schlaues Wassermanagement n\u00f6tig<\/h2>\n<p>Empfehlungen f\u00fcr lokales Wassermanagement liessen sich zwar nicht ableiten, da die Studie in Europa drei grosse Regionen zusammenfasste. So wurden beispielsweise spezielle Gegebenheiten wie der Einfluss der Gletscher auf den Wasserhaushalt der Schweiz nicht ber\u00fccksichtigt.
