Industrielle chemische Abf\u00e4lle stellen eine globale Herausforderung dar. Herk\u00f6mmliche Entsorgungsmethoden wie Verbrennung f\u00fchren zu hohen Kosten und CO2-Emissionen. Zudem sind bestehende biologische Ans\u00e4tze oft in ihrer Skalierbarkeit und Effizienz eingeschr\u00e4nkt, was den dringenden Bedarf an verbesserten L\u00f6sungen f\u00fcr das Abfallmanagement verdeutlicht.<\/p>\n

Das ETH-Spin-off CellX Biosolutions bek\u00e4mpft chemische Verschmutzung mit leistungsstarken bakteriellen Abbauprodukten. Diese erm\u00f6glichen einen CO2-emissionsfreien Abbau industrieller Schadstoffe. Mithilfe eines mikrofluidischen Werkzeugs identifiziert CellX einzigartige Bakterien mit hoher Abbauleistung, die sch\u00e4dliche Chemikalien wie PFAS und Pharmazeutika sogar in abgelegenen Umgebungen abbauen k\u00f6nnen. Dieser nachhaltige Ansatz bietet eine umweltfreundliche Alternative zu herk\u00f6mmlichen Entsorgungsmethoden.<\/p>\n

CellX plant, einen Markt von \u00fcber 1 Milliarden USD zu bedienen<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Der Markt f\u00fcr die Behandlung gef\u00e4hrlicher chemischer Abf\u00e4lle wird bis 2027 voraussichtlich 48 Milliarden USD erreichen, bedingt durch versch\u00e4rfte Umweltvorschriften und die wachsende Nachfrage nach nachhaltigen L\u00f6sungen. CellX Biosolutions hat mit seinen Produkten f\u00fcr hochpriorit\u00e4re Schadstoffe grosses Potenzial in diesem Bereich. Das Unternehmen hat bereits in der Anfangsphase starke Kundenkontakte und plant, einen Markt von \u00fcber 1 Mrd. USD zu bedienen, darunter grosse PFAS-Hersteller und Pharmaunternehmen, die umweltfreundliche Abfallmanagementl\u00f6sungen suchen.<\/p>\n

CellX wird die CHF 150’000 von Venture Kick f\u00fcr die Beschleunigung der Gesch\u00e4fts- und Produktentwicklung verwenden und damit einen Beitrag zu seiner Pre-Seed-Runde von CHF 1,2 Mio. leisten. Diese wird voraussichtlich im ersten Quartal 2025 abgeschlossen sein.<\/p>\n

Das Team von CellX setzt sich zusammen aus der Gr\u00fcnderin und CEO Dr. Estelle Clerc, die einen Doktortitel in Mikrobiologie hat, Mitbegr\u00fcnder und COO Geoffrey Besnier, Produktleiterin Dr. Fabienne Kurt und technischem Leiter Christian Engler. Alle bringen spezifisches Fachwissen ins Unternehmen ein.<\/p>\n

\u201eVenture Kick hat uns erm\u00f6glicht, wichtige Meilensteine zu erreichen: Partnerschaften aufzubauen, fachkundige Rechtsberatung zu sichern und Sichtbarkeit bei Investoren zu erlangen. Diese Unterst\u00fctzung war entscheidend f\u00fcr unser Gesch\u00e4ft und die Produktentwicklung. Seit Beginn des Programms im Februar 2024 haben wir 1,2 Millionen USD an Unterst\u00fctzung gesichert und CellX f\u00fcr ein Wachstum in der Branche ger\u00fcstet\u201d, betonte CEO Estelle Clerc.<\/p>\n
