Methanol kann lange gelagert und zum Antrieb von Schiffen, Fahrzeugen oder Flugzeugen verwendet werden und im Geb\u00e4udesektor das Heiz\u00f6l ersetzen. Gerade Hausbesitzer, die ihre \u00d6lheizung nicht durch W\u00e4rmepumpen ersetzen k\u00f6nnen, suchen nun dringend nach Alternativen, denn das neue CO2-Gesetz forciert einen Ausstieg aus dem Heiz\u00f6l.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prototyp entwickelt<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Das Startup Methanology aus Neuhausen am Rheinfall will zur L\u00f6sung beitragen. Das Unternehmen hat einen Prototypen f\u00fcr die Produktion von erneuerbarem Methanol entwickelt. Mit der patentierten \u00abwillpower energy\u00bb-Technologie werden Wasser, CO2 und erneuerbarer Strom in erneuerbares Methanol umgewandelt. Als Einzelsystem soll er in die\u00a0meisten Kellerr\u00e4ume passen und k\u00f6nnte dort nach geringf\u00fcgigem Umbau der bestehenden Heizung das Heiz\u00f6l ersetzen, wie das Startup schreibt. Aufgrund der modularen und skalierbaren Bauweise k\u00f6nne der \u00abwillpower energy\u00bb-Reaktor nicht nur in Einfamilienh\u00e4usern eingesetzt werden, sondern auch f\u00fcr die Produktion gr\u00f6sserer Mengen, beispielsweise zur Methanolproduktion f\u00fcr die Schifffahrt. Erste Schiffe, die mit Methanol betrieben werden, sind bereits in der Ostsee unterwegs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serienreife finanzieren<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Um die Technologie in den n\u00e4chsten drei Jahren zur Serienreife zu bringen, braucht es laut dem Unternehmen Methanology nun weitere Entwicklungsschritte und entsprechendes Kapital.
