(Bildquelle: Hochschule f\u00fcr Life Sciences FHNW)<\/figcaption>\r\n<\/figure>\r\n<p>Dr. Thomas Vetter studierte Chemieingenieurwesen an der ETH Z\u00fcrich und vertiefte seine Kenntnisse in Chemical- und Bioengineering. Nach seinem Doktorat zur Kristallisation organischer Molek\u00fcle, ausgezeichnet mit dem EFCE Excellence Award, sammelte er Erfahrungen an der University of California in Santa Barbara, sowie in der Industrie bei Eli Lilly &amp; Company in Indianapolis. Anschliessend leitete er als Professor an der University of Manchester eine Forschungsgruppe zu industriellen und fundamentalen Fragestellungen der Partikeltechnologie und Kristallchemie. Von 2020 bis 2025 verantwortete er bei Lundbeck in Kopenhagen ein Department f\u00fcr die Entdeckung und Charakterisierung von Kristallformen neuer Pharmazeutika sowie deren Prozessentwicklung vom Labor- bis zum Mehrhundert-Kilogramm-Massstab.<\/p>\r\n<p>Am Institut f\u00fcr Pharmatechnologie und Biotechnologie wird Prof. Vetter sein Fachwissen in Lehre und angewandter Forschung einbringen und neue Kooperationen mit Industrie und Forschung aufbauen. Dadurch k\u00f6nnen Studierende praxisnah lernen und ihre Kompetenzen f\u00fcr die pharmazeutische Industrie erweitern, w\u00e4hrend Industriepartner von fundiertem Know-how in Prozessentwicklung und Partikeltechnologie profitieren. Mit seiner Verst\u00e4rkung setzt das Institut seine strategische Ausrichtung auf innovative Lehre, angewandte Forschung und enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Industrie fort.
