Bild: Empa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"std-paragraph-block\">\n<div class=\"std-art-paragraph\">\n<p>Der neu entstehende\u00a0Forschungscampus \u00abco-operate\u00bb in D\u00fcbendorf ist\u00a0zugleich selber Objekt der Forschung. Denn unter dem Areal entsteht ein experimenteller, saisonaler Energiespeicher, der nicht nur die neuen Geb\u00e4ude, sondern das gesamte Empa-Areal mit Energie beliefern wird. Im Sommer wird etwa die Abw\u00e4rme von L\u00fcftungen und Laborger\u00e4ten gespeichert, um diese dann im Winter zum Heizen oder f\u00fcr die Produktion von Brauchwarmwasser nutzen zu k\u00f6nnen. Angestrebt wird, rund 90% der generierten Abw\u00e4rme entweder direkt zu nutzen oder im Erdspeicher \u00abzwischenzulagern\u00bb. Dadurch will die Empa den CO<sub>2<\/sub>-Ausstoss ihrer Geb\u00e4ude auf ein Minimum senken und so einen wichtigen Meilenstein f\u00fcr eine nachhaltige Energiezukunft legen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2><strong>Maximaltemperaturen bis zu 50 Grad<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>F\u00fcr zehn Jahre kann die Empa den W\u00e4rmespeicher in erster Linie zu Forschungszwecken nutzen. Der W\u00e4rmespeicher \u2013 ein Erdsondenfeld mit einem Temperaturgradienten \u2013 umfasst 144 Erdsonden, die bis zu 100 Meter tief in den Boden reichen. In dieser Tiefe arbeitet der Speicher besonders effektiv und verliert dabei nur einen geringen Anteil der gespeicherten W\u00e4rme an die Umgebung. Im Zentrum des Erdsondenfelds k\u00f6nnen die Maximaltemperaturen bis zu 50\u00b0C betragen und am Rand liegen die Werte bei ungef\u00e4hr 10\u00b0C. \u00dcber ein R\u00f6hrensystem ist es m\u00f6glich, jede R\u00f6hre der Erdsonde einzeln oder auch definierte Bereiche anzusteuern und so den optimalen Mix zwischen Temperatur, Wirkungsgrad und Energiespeicher zu erreichen.<\/p>\n<p>Ein solcher Erdspeicher ist zwar sehr effektiv, wegen seiner grossen Masse aber auch tr\u00e4ge.
