Als Pionier im so genannten \u00abUrban Mining\u00bb setzt der Kanton Z\u00fcrich konsequent auf die R\u00fcckgewinnung von Wertstoffen aus den Hinterlassenschaften unserer Gesellschaft und macht damit den Kanton Z\u00fcrich zu einer ergiebigen Rohstoffmiene.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Einen unterbrochenen Kreislauf wieder schliessen<\/strong><br \/>\nEin kostbarer Rohstoff, der bis heute noch im Abfall landet, ist Phosphor \u2013 eine f\u00fcr die Nahrungsmittelproduktion unerl\u00e4ssliche und nicht ersetzbare Substanz. Seit 2006 darf Kl\u00e4rschlamm aus Abwasserreinigungsanlagen nicht mehr als D\u00fcnger auf die Felder ausgebracht werden, da er zu viele Schadstoffe enth\u00e4lt. Dadurch gelangt der im Kl\u00e4rschlamm enthaltene Phosphor nicht mehr zur\u00fcck in den nat\u00fcrlichen Stoffkreislauf. Der Kanton Z\u00fcrich hat darum seine Kl\u00e4rschlammentsorgung innerhalb weniger Jahre komplett neu ausgerichtet. Mit der Inbetriebnahme der neuen, zentralen Kl\u00e4rschlammverwertungsanlage in Z\u00fcrich stehen praktisch 100 Prozent des im Kl\u00e4rschlamm vorhandenen Phosphors zur R\u00fcckge-winnung zur Verf\u00fcgung und die Kl\u00e4rschlammentsorgungskosten im Kanton Z\u00fcrich konnten um mehr als die H\u00e4lfte reduziert werden. Daneben hat sich der Kanton Z\u00fcrich zum Ziel gesetzt, ein Verfahren zu entwickeln, das den Phosphor umweltschonend der Kl\u00e4rschlamm-Asche entzieht, damit er in reiner Form als Rohstoff und Handelsware f\u00fcr industrielle Prozesse zur Verf\u00fcgung steht, etwa zur Herstellung von Pflanzend\u00fcngern. So soll auch beim Phosphor der nat\u00fcrliche Kreislauf wieder geschlossen und die Schweiz langfristig von Phosphorimporten unabh\u00e4ngig werden.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Im Labor gelungen<\/strong><br \/>\nNun ist der Kanton Z\u00fcrich diesem Ziel einen entscheidenden Schritt n\u00e4her gekommen. Zusammen mit dem renommierten Technologiepartner T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas SA (Spanien) ist es der vom Kanton Z\u00fcrich mitbegr\u00fcndeten Stiftung Zentrum f\u00fcr nachhaltige Abfall- und Ressourcennutzung (ZAR) in Hinwil und Zuchwil im Oktober 2015 erstmals gelungen, im Labor aus Z\u00fcrcher Kl\u00e4rschlammasche hochwertige Phosphors\u00e4ure herzustellen. Dieser Erfolg ist ein wichtiger Meilenstein auf dem Weg zur R\u00fcckgewinnung von Phosphor aus Kl\u00e4rschlamm im industriellen Massstab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kanton Z\u00fcrich unterst\u00fctzt weitere Entwicklung<\/strong><br \/>\nDie Stiftung ZAR wird nun zusammen mit der T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas SA die technische Machbarkeit des Verfahrens in einer Pilotanlage pr\u00fcfen. Der Kanton Z\u00fcrich unterst\u00fctzt diese\u00a0Phase der Entwicklung im Sinn einer Anschubfinanzierung mit einem Beitrag von 2 Millio-nen Franken oder 60 Prozent der Kosten, wie der Regierungsrat nun entschieden hat. Die \u00fcbrigen 40 Prozent oder 1,3 Millionen Franken werden durch den Technologiepartner T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas SA getragen. Die bevorstehenden Abkl\u00e4rungen werden zeigen, welche Kosten f\u00fcr einen kommerziellen Nutzer entstehen w\u00fcrden.
