Das Projekt wurde mit 9 Millionen Euro von der Europ\u00e4ischen Union und weiteren 6 Millionen Euro durch Eigenmittel der Partner finanziert. Es erbrachte sieben Patente, ein Dutzend wissenschaftliche Publikationen sowie massgebliche Beitr\u00e4ge zu internationalen Organisationen f\u00fcr Normung.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flexible Elektroden und neuartige Barrierefolien<\/strong><br \/>\nAls wichtigstes Ergebnis hat das Projekt Produktionsprozesse f\u00fcr verschiedene Typen transparenter Elektroden und Barrierematerialien f\u00fcr die n\u00e4chste Generation flexibler Optoelektronik entwickelt und in einem zweiten Schritt f\u00fcr die Industrieproduktion hochskaliert. Drei dieser Elektroden auf flexiblen Substraten \u2013 sie basieren entweder auf Kohlenstoffnanor\u00f6hrchen, Metallfasern oder d\u00fcnnen Silberschichten \u2013 werden bereits kommerziell produziert oder sollen noch dieses Jahr auf den Markt kommen. Die n\u00e4chste Generation von Lichtquellen und Solarzellen soll mittels Rolle-zu-Rolle-Fabrikation hergestellt werden, wof\u00fcr sich die neuen Elektroden besonders gut eignen. Eine Rolle mit OLED- Lichtquellen und Projekt-Logo wurde durch einen solchen Rolle-zu-Rolle Prozess am Fraunhofer-Institut f\u00fcr Organische Elektronik, Elektronenstrahl- und Plasmatechnik in Dresden FEP auf einer d\u00fcnnen Silberelektrode hergestellt, welche im Rahmen des Projekts Projekt von der Rowo Coating GmbH entwickelt wurde.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Flexible Lichtquellen &#8211;\u00a0h\u00fcbsch und preisg\u00fcnstig zugleich<\/strong><br \/>\nSolche Prozesstechnologien werden in Zukunft die\u00a0 Preise f\u00fcr Lichtquellen und Solarzellen deutlich sinken lassen, ben\u00f6tigen jedoch flexible und transparente Elektroden und wasserdichte Barrieren, welche ebenfalls im Rahmen des TREASORES Projekts entwickelt wurden. Die Projektelektroden sind bereits jetzt ebenso leistungsf\u00e4hig und transparent wie Elektroden der aktuellen Technologie (basierend auf Indium dotiertem Zinnoxid, ITO), teilweise sind sie diesen Elektroden sogar \u00fcberlegen. Sie k\u00f6nnen jedoch kosteng\u00fcnstiger produziert werden und beruhen nicht auf dem Import von seltener werdendem Indium.<br \/>\nTomasz Wanski vom Fraunhofer FEP best\u00e4tigt, dass mit den neuen Elektroden \u00e4usserst homogene Lichtquellen auch auf gr\u00f6sseren Fl\u00e4chen mit einer Effizienz von 25 Lumen pro Watt erreicht wurden \u2013 ebenso gut wie \u00e4quivalenten Bauteile der bisherigen OLED-Technologie, die mit einem langsameren Produktionsprozess auf einzelnen Folien hergestellt werden. Im Laufe des Projektes wurden am National Physical Laboratory in Grossbritannien auch neue Testmethoden f\u00fcr die Biegefestigkeit von Elektroden entwickelt \u2013 dieser Test k\u00f6nnte auf diesem Gebiet zu einer neuen Norm f\u00fchren.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spezialfolien sch\u00fctzen die Elektronik vor Sauerstoff<\/strong><br \/>\nEin weiterer Erfolg des Projektes war die Herstellung, das Testen und die Hochskalierung der Produktion von neuen, transparenten Barrierefolien\u00a0 \u2013 gemeint sind Kunsstofffolien, welche verhindern, dass Sauerstoff und Wasserdampf in die organischen Bauteile eindringen und diese zerst\u00f6ren. Es gelang, effiziente und kosteng\u00fcnstige Barrieren zu produzieren, die voraussichtlich von der Schweizer Firma Amcor Flexibles Kreuzlingen weiterentwickelt und vermarktet werden k\u00f6nnen. Solche nicht permeable Barrieren sind essenziell, um die f\u00fcr einen kommerziellen Erfolg ben\u00f6tigte lange Lebensdauer organischer Solarzellen und Lichtquellen zu erreichen.<\/p>\n<p>Wie mit einer im Projekt durchgef\u00fchrten Lebenszyklenanalyse (LCA) best\u00e4tigt wurde, sind Solarzellen nur dann kommerziell und \u00f6kologisch sinnvoll, wenn sowohl die Effizienz wie auch die Lebensdauer ausreichend hoch sind. Indem man die Produktion von Barrieren und Elektroden kombiniert, anstatt daf\u00fcr zwei separate Kunststoffsubstrate zu verwenden, k\u00f6nnen die Produktionskosten weiter reduziert und die Bauteile d\u00fcnner und flexibler gestaltet werden.Optoelektronische Bauteile besitzen aktive Schichten von lediglich ein paar hundert Nanometern\u00a0 \u2013 weniger als 1 Prozent des Durchmessers eines menschlichen Haares \u2013 und bereits kleine Oberfl\u00e4chendefekte oder unsichtbare Staubpartikel k\u00f6nnen die Bauteileffizienz erniedrigen oder zu inhomogener Leuchtfl\u00e4che und kurzer Lebensdauer f\u00fchren.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Knowhow von 15 Partnern aus f\u00fcnf europ\u00e4ischen Nationen<\/strong><br \/>\nDas TREASORES Projekt vereinigte das Knowhow von neun Firmen und sechs Technologieinstituten aus f\u00fcnf L\u00e4ndern und wurde von Frank N\u00fcesch von der Eidgen\u00f6ssischen Materialpr\u00fcfungs-und Forschungsanstalt (Empa) geleitet.\u00a0 \u201eIch freue mich darauf, noch in diesem Jahr die ersten kommerziellen Produkte aus dem Projekt auf dem Markt zu sehen\u201c, sagt N\u00fcesch.<br \/>\nMichael Niggemann, CTO des Solarzellenherstellers Eight19 in Cambridge ist ebenfalls begeistert: \u201eDas TREASORES Projekt war ein Erfolg f\u00fcr Eight19, da es wichtige Beitr\u00e4ge zur Senkung der Produktionskosten unserer Solarzellen lieferte.
