Dieser Druck eignet sich in erster Linie f\u00fcr die Betankung von Nutzfahrzeugen, die \u00fcber grosse Tanks verf\u00fcgen. Mit der nun neu aufgebauten 700 bar-Zapfs\u00e4ule f\u00fcr Wasserstoff reagiert die Empa auf die Bed\u00fcrfnisse von Brennstoffzellen-Personenfahrzeugen: kompakte Tanks, m\u00f6glichst grosse Reichweite und eine schnelle Betankung. Personenwagen mit Wasserstoffantrieb lassen sich damit innerhalb von 2 bis 3 Minuten betanken und haben bei vollem Tank eine Reichweite von bis zu 600 km. Damit werden Brennstoffzellen-Fahrzeuge gegen\u00fcber herk\u00f6mmlichen Benzin- oder Dieselfahrzeugen hinsichtlich des Betankungskomforts auf einen Schlag konkurrenzf\u00e4hig.<\/p>\n<p>Um die rasche Betankung zu erm\u00f6glichen, wird der komprimierte Wasserstoff auf -40\u00b0C vorgek\u00fchlt. Dies ist n\u00f6tig, damit die Temperatur im Tank durch die Kompressionsw\u00e4rme, die w\u00e4hrend der Betankung entsteht, nicht zu stark ansteigt. \u00dcber eine intelligente Infrarot-Schnittstelle \u00abkommuniziert\u00bb das Fahrzeug w\u00e4hrend des Tankvorgangs mit der Zapfpistole und macht etwa Angaben zu Temperatur und F\u00fcllstand. Die neue Wasserstofftankstelle der Empa ist eng verkn\u00fcpft mit der ersten komplett \u00f6ffentlichen Wasserstofftankstelle in Hunzenschwil, welche die Coop Mineraloel AG in Zusammenarbeit mit der \u00abH2\u00a0Energy AG\u00bb Anfang November er\u00f6ffnen wird.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Der Schl\u00fcssel zum Erfolg: erneuerbare Energien speichern zu k\u00f6nnen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wasserstoff ist ganz wesentlich f\u00fcr die Integration von erneuerbarer Energie, die nicht immer dann anf\u00e4llt, wenn sie gebraucht wird. Deshalb muss man in der Lage sein, sie zwischenzuspeichern. Heute stehen dazu auf der untersten Stromnetzebene kleinskalige Batteriespeicher beziehungsweise grossskalige Pumpspeicherkraftwerke auf der h\u00f6chsten Netzebene zur Verf\u00fcgung. Immer mehr zeigt sich aber der Bedarf an Technologien, die kapazit\u00e4ts- und leistungsm\u00e4ssig dazwischen liegen und auf einer mittleren Netzebene angebunden sind. Dazu z\u00e4hlen etwa \u00abPower-to-Gas\u00bb-Anlagen. Diese k\u00f6nnen erneuerbaren Strom immer dann, wenn er im Strommarkt nicht wirtschaftlich eingesetzt werden kann, in Treibstoff, etwa Wasserstoff oder Methan, umwandeln und so Benzin und Diesel ersetzen.<\/p>\n<p>Das ist vor allem f\u00fcr \u00abVielfahrer\u00bb sinnvoll: Rund 20% der Fahrzeuge in der Schweiz weisen j\u00e4hrliche Fahrleistungen von mehr als 20\u2019000 km auf und sind zusammen f\u00fcr fast die H\u00e4lfte aller gefahrenen Kilometer verantwortlich. Um solche Fahrzeuge von fossiler auf erneuerbare Energie umzustellen, sind daher hohe Reichweiten erforderlich, die rein elektrisch betriebene Fahrzeuge mit Batterie zumindest in naher Zukunft nicht bieten k\u00f6nnen. Wasserstofffahrzeuge eignen sich dagegen auch f\u00fcr Langstreckenfahrten.
