Samuel Schär is the new CEO of the Bühler Group
As announced in April 2025, Samuel Schär took up his position as CEO of Bühler at the start of the new year, effective January 1. He succeeds Stefan Scheiber, who will be proposed as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors at the upcoming Annual General Meeting in February 2026.
Samuel Schär has been the new CEO of the Bühler Group since January 1, 2026. «More than ever, Bühler is playing an important role in the transformation of the food and feed industry and the mobility sector toward greater sustainability. The appointment of Samuel Schär represents continuity and stability for Bühler's employees, customers, and partners, the company said. Samuel Schär joined Bühler 20 years ago to build up the nanotechnology business unit. He then headed the Grinding & Dispersing business unit for several years before joining the Executive Committee in 2013 and successfully leading the Advanced Materials segment for 10 years. He later took over responsibility for the global Services & Sales organization. Samuel Schär studied physics at EPFL Lausanne in Switzerland.
Stefan Scheiber will be nominated for election as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the next Annual General Meeting of the Bühler Group in February 2026. He can look back on a 35-year career at Bühler, having served in various roles on the Executive Committee for 20 years and most recently as CEO of the company for 10 years. Calvin Grieder, the current Chairman of the Board of Directors, will step down at the Annual General Meeting after 25 successful and influential years as CEO, member of the Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Board of Directors.
