CSO change at Baggenstos: Ivo Gonzenbach takes over from Othmar Frey
The Swiss IT service provider Baggenstos is making a change in sales management: Ivo Gonzenbach will take over the role of Chief Sales Officer in summer 2026. His predecessor Othmar Frey is retiring after 14 years with the company.
Baggenstos, one of Switzerland's leading IT service providers based in Wallisellen, is making a change at the head of Sales and Marketing. Ivo Gonzenbach is taking over the position of Chief Sales Officer (CSO). His predecessor Othmar Frey will retire in summer 2026 after 14 formative years at the company.
Experienced cloud expert with SME focus
In Ivo Gonzenbach, Baggenstos is gaining a proven cloud specialist who was most recently responsible for sales and marketing as a member of the management team at Aproda. His career includes further positions at Bechtle and Steffen Informatik. Gonzenbach gained additional expertise in the cloud environment as a research assistant at the Institute for Information Systems at the University of Liechtenstein. He is a business economist and holds a Master of Arts in Information, Media and Technology Management from the University of St. Gallen.
Chairman of the Board of Directors Thomas Baggenstos is convinced by the choice: «With Ivo, we are bringing on board a proven expert who understands our customers and knows how to create real added value from technology.»
For Gonzenbach himself, customer proximity is paramount: «Our customers don't want complex platforms, but solutions that work, provide security and make everyday life easier. Listening is the key.» In his new role, he will drive the further development of Baggenstos with a clear focus on customer proximity and AI and security expertise.
Farewell to a pioneer
Othmar Frey has left his mark on Baggenstos. Thomas Baggenstos pays tribute to his commitment with clear words: «Othmar was much more than a CSO for us. As a pioneer in the field of unified communication, he played a decisive role in shaping our company over many years. His ambition to always find the best solution for the customer, his positive manner and his tireless commitment were exemplary.» The company wishes Frey all the best for the new phase of his life - including for his involvement in politics, beekeeping and his other interests.

Ivo Gonzenbach is 46 years old, married and the father of two children. In his free time, he is passionate about sailing and is involved as co-founder and president of the association Sailability.ch.
