Informatec arranges management succession with an internal team
Data & AI specialist Informatec from Muttenz is handing over operational management to a long-standing internal management trio. As of July 1, 2026, Christian Fischer will take over as CEO, Oliver Ruf as COO and Flávio Soares as CTO. Founder Rino Mentil will remain with the company as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
After 28 years at the helm of Informatec, founder Rino Mentil is initiating the handover of operational responsibility. As of July 1, 2026, Christian Fischer will take over as CEO, Oliver Ruf as COO and Flávio Soares as CTO of the data & AI specialist from Muttenz. Together, the trio brings over 50 years of experience in the company's core business. Margarida Mentil, previously CFO, is also stepping down from operational responsibility after a transitional phase as part of the succession plan.
Management team with many years of experience
Christian Fischer, the new CEO, has been with Informatec for around 18 years. As Head of Sales and Co-Managing Director of Informatec Germany, he was responsible for customer acquisition and the support of over 400 SME and enterprise customers. His proximity to customers and his understanding of the market should help Informatec to make targeted progress in the next development phase.
Oliver Ruf takes on the role of Chief Operating Officer. He has also been with the company for more than 18 years and, as Head of Consulting & Projects, was responsible for the successful implementation of several hundred BI and data analytics projects as well as increasingly AI-related data projects in various industries.
Flávio Soares becomes Chief Technology Officer. He has been Head of Technology & Solutions at Informatec for 17 years and is responsible for the technological development of modern data platforms, data analytics and AI. He also heads up the technology-oriented location in Lisbon, thereby strengthening the company's international innovative power.
Rino Mentil remains active as Chairman of the Board of Directors
After 28 years of entrepreneurship, Rino Mentil is stepping down operationally, but will remain with Informatec as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Strategic Advisor. He comments on the handover as follows: «It was crucial for me to find a solution that combines continuity and future prospects. With Christian, Oliver and Flávio, a well-established team is taking over that knows Informatec inside out and will at the same time bring in new impetus. I am convinced that the company is optimally positioned for the coming years.»
The long-term ownership structure will be regulated in the next step.
