Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts: 799 graduates celebrate their graduation
The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Business awarded 439 bachelor’s and 360 master’s degrees at its graduation ceremonies. For the first time, awards were also presented at the master’s level for the best theses and academic achievements. Starting in the fall semester of 2027, the university will also launch a new bachelor’s degree program in Business Law & LegalTech.
A total of 799 graduates from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Business received their diplomas: 439 with bachelor’s degrees and 360 with master’s degrees. Among them are eleven graduates of the Master of Science in Business Psychology—they make up the first graduating class of this program.
The master's degree commencement ceremony took place on September 16 at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Lucerne, and the bachelor's degree commencement ceremony followed on September 18 at the Lucerne Culture and Convention Center (KKL).
Awards Now Also Given at the Master's Level for the First Time
This year, outstanding achievements were recognized not only at the bachelor’s level but also, for the first time, at the master’s level. Thirteen students received an award—either for the best thesis in their degree program or for the highest grade point average over the course of their studies.
Outlook: New Bachelor's Degree Program Starting in 2027
Artificial intelligence is taking on more and more routine tasks in the legal industry, from contract review to legal research. At the same time, companies are seeing a growing need for professionals who combine expertise in law, technology, and management. With its new bachelor’s degree program in Business Law & LegalTech, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts is responding to this shift. This pioneering program—the first of its kind in Switzerland—will begin in the fall semester of 2027.
The program was designed from the ground up and thus differs from other bachelor’s programs in business law. «Future graduates will have a wide range of opportunities in the legal, tax, HR, or compliance departments of companies, banks, insurance firms, or government agencies,» says Martin Gubler, Co-Head of Education in the Department of Economics at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
