Bringing together self-employed women in Switzerland

More and more women in Switzerland are starting their own businesses and need not only knowledge, but also support, exchange and role models. This is precisely where the "Self-employed Women Switzerland" platform comes in: With sound know-how, a strong community and a clear vision. On August 13, 2025, the two founders Jana Berger and Lisa Burth will host the first Business Boost event in Zurich, which is already sold out.

The "Selbständige Frauen Schweiz" platform has been supporting women in setting up and running their own business since 2021. It was founded by Jana Berger and Lisa Burth, who met via Instagram - today they are close to half a million sales. Their goal: to make self-employment accessible, to think flexibly and in a female way, with clear tools instead of empty phrases, and with a network that supports them.

Strong community of 20,000 women around the topic of self-employment

The "Business Boost" event is aimed at women who are (partially) self-employed and want to develop strategically. In addition to input sessions on visibility and entrepreneurial growth, the event offers space for personal exchange, new ideas and community building at eye level. "The first step into self-employment is often the hardest - but nobody has to take it alone. The Business Boost is an event where women can take themselves seriously, supported by a community that empowers rather than judges. We are the contact point for already or future self-employed women in Switzerland," says Jana Berger, co-founder of Selbständige Frauen Schweiz.

The platform was launched to reduce barriers to starting a business - with tools, support and a strong community. Around 5,000 women have already benefited from the offers, and the community has grown to almost 20,000 women. The social media platforms of "Selbständige Frauen Schweiz" have also been nominated for the Swiss Influence Award 2025 in the Business & Finance category. On Instagram and in the podcast on Spotify, female entrepreneurs receive valuable tips from Jana Berger and Lisa Burth on how to set up and run a sole proprietorship. "Starting a business shouldn't feel like jumping in at the deep end. We give women structure, clarity and the community they need to take the step into self-employment with confidence. At Selbständige Frauen, we not only offer inspiration, but also practical help, clear tips with added value in the online course, for example with templates and step-by-step instructions," says Lisa Burth, co-founder of Selbständige Frauen Schweiz.

Business Boost Event: Why now - and why offline?

The Business Boost event brings the strong online community together in person for the first time. The exchange on site strengthens trust, makes needs visible - and enables new contacts and ideas to be picked up. The event is open to all women - regardless of whether they are already self-employed or have their first ideas. Childcare is offered for mothers. This eliminates a hurdle for female entrepreneurs.
