Successful succession planning at plant manufacturer kawe AG
kawe AG, based in Untersiggenthal, has a new strategic and operational management team: the previous owners and managing directors Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi have handed over the reins to Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger, who are the new owners of the company.

kawe AG has developed from a small plant manufacturer into an established provider and supplier of complex solutions in plant and special machine construction for the Swiss tech industry. With 70 employees today, including 10 apprentices, the company serves customers from the energy sector, the defense industry and other sectors in Switzerland and around the world. By investing in production, digital processes and a 6000 square meter factory building, kawe AG has created a solid foundation for further growth. One of the company's specializations is the welding of complex assemblies, with a high level of expertise in rare processes such as brazing and modern laser welding.
Succession planning at an early stage
While many SMEs are hesitant when it comes to succession solutions, Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi have planned the transition with foresight. With Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger, two industry experts who share the company's values and want to exploit its development potential are now taking over responsibility. Michael Reinhard brings with him international industrial experience and expertise in strategic corporate management and management consultancy. Marc Flückiger has extensive management experience as an entrepreneur and knows the challenges of an SME at first hand.
Growth with social and regional responsibility
"We want to develop new products for power generation and the electrical industry and bring them to market," explains the new owner and CEO Michael Reinhard. "With a perspective of 20 to 30 years, we will continue on our current course and at the same time tap into new development potential," says the new owner and CFO Marc Flückiger. Cooperation with promising start-ups is to be intensified.
According to the company, social responsibility towards employees will remain important to the new owners. In addition, kawe AG will continue to act as a committed training center and its regional roots will remain a central element of the company's identity, the statement continues.
Experience stays in the company
Stephan Leunig and Michel Indrizzi will remain involved in the company as investors. Michel Indrizzi will also continue to assume responsibility as a member of the Board of Directors. "We wanted to hand kawe over into good hands. In Michael Reinhard and Marc Flückiger, we have found successors who will continue to run the company with the same values and develop it further with fresh impetus," emphasizes Michel Indrizzi.
