Debrunner Koenig acquires Locher Reinforcements
On January 1, 2026, the Debrunner Koenig Group will take over the operations of Locher Bewehrungen AG, based in St. Gallen. This succession plan will enable customers to benefit from enhanced performance capabilities.

With the takeover of Locher Bewehrungen AG on January 1, 2026, the Debrunner Koenig Group, which operates throughout Switzerland and is firmly established in the reinforcement industry, is strengthening its position in eastern Switzerland. It is systematically expanding its comprehensive range of services and products for builders and engineers.
Locher Bewehrungen AG is a company with roots in the St. Gallen region and many years of experience in reinforcement technology. «We combine the regional proximity and customer-specific solution expertise of Locher Bewehrungen and the Debrunner Koenig Group,» says Mitja Schulz, CEO of Debrunner Koenig, explaining the acquisition. According to the company, this means an increase in performance in the reinforcement business area.
The Debrunner Koenig Group, headquartered in St. Gallen, is part of the internationally active Klöckner & Co SE Group. Founded in 1755, the Swiss group of companies acts as a competent B2B trading partner and service provider in the national market. It consists of four business divisions: «Reinforcement» supplies reinforcing steel, reinforcement technology, and reinforcement accessories. «Steel & Metals» and «Metal Service» serve the market with raw materials and semi-finished products. «Technical Products» covers other areas of construction needs for customers in the construction, industrial, and skilled trades sectors.
The group employs around 1,350 people and has around 40 locations throughout Switzerland. The group also has central and regional warehouses, pick-up shops, sales locations throughout Switzerland, and efficient service centers.
