The Swiss Franke Group, headquartered in Aarburg, is expanding its presence in Scandinavia and strengthening its expertise in central ventilation by acquiring Røros Metall, a Norwegian premium manufacturer of RørosHetta cooker hoods and ventilation systems. Franke is acquiring all shares in the company. Financial details will not be disclosed.

Røros Metall will become part of Franke Home Solutions, a division of the Franke Group and a global leader in intelligent systems and solutions for the home kitchen. This integration strengthens Franke's position in the Nordic market, according to a press release. It also combines the expertise of both companies in the field of sustainable, energy-efficient ventilation solutions and enables RørosHetta to grow further within the global Franke network, the company added.

Founded in 1946, the family-owned company Røros Metall has a long history of high-quality products and technical innovations. In 1981, the company launched its first extractor hood on the market and has since developed into a major player in the Nordic region. For over 20 years, Røros Metall has worked closely with Faber, Franke's kitchen ventilation brand, to further develop its expertise. In 2024, the company also took over the distribution of Franke sinks and taps in Norway.

Håvard Augensen, previously owner and CEO of Røros Metall, is moving to a new role as head of the Franke organization in the Nordic region. He will contribute to the growth of the Franke Home Solutions division, with a particular focus on strengthening expertise in central ventilation and expanding the presence in Scandinavia and Europe. He succeeds Christoph Stuebi, who is responsible for the integration of the newly acquired company and will ensure a smooth transition.
