Bettina Bornmann new member of the Board of Directors of Axa Switzerland
Bettina Bornmann will join the Board of Directors of Axa Switzerland on April 22, 2026. The experienced economist succeeds Ruth Metzler-Arnold, who is stepping down from the Board after fourteen years.

Bettina Bornmann has been elected to the Board of Directors of Axa Switzerland with effect from April 22, 2026. The 57-year-old economist has a broad track record in the insurance and financial sector.
Many years of experience in finance and risk
Bettina Bornmann was Group Head Planning and Performance Management at Zurich Insurance Group until 2024. From 2015 to 2020, she was CFO of the Executive Board of Zurich Switzerland. Between 2021 and 2024, she was also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zurich Insurance Group Pension Fund and held various international directorships.
Bornmann worked at Swiss Life from 2009 to 2015 - first as CFO of Swiss Life International and later as Head of Group Controlling. Prior to this, she took over the management of the M&A department of the German hospital group Ameos in 2008. She began her career in 1994 as an Associate Mergers and Acquisitions at Ubs before working at KPMG from 1998 to 2008, from 2006 as Head Corporate Finance and Partner.

Ruth Metzler-Arnold bids farewell after fourteen years
Bettina Bornmann succeeds Ruth Metzler-Arnold, who has stepped down to focus on the presidency of Swiss Olympic. Ruth Metzler-Arnold was a member of the Board of Directors for fourteen years, six of them as Vice Chair. Most recently, she was a member of the Nomination and Compensation Committee and the Audit Committee.
