The Board of Directors of Centris AG has appointed Thomas Zangerl as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). On January 1, 2027, he will take over the operational management of the company from Patrick Progin, who has led Centris since 2004 and will retire on March 31, 2027. By arranging the succession at an early stage, Centris is creating continuity and planning security for customers, employees and shareholders.

Experience in IT and international business management

Thomas Zangerl has many years of experience in managing international software and IT service companies. From 2020 to 2026, he was CEO of Adnovum AG, where he was responsible for around 700 employees in five countries. His focus was on the strategic development of the business model, a comprehensive organizational and cultural transformation and the targeted sharpening of market positioning - particularly in the areas of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. He previously held various management positions at Netcetera AG and Helsana Versicherungen AG.

With his appointment, the Board of Directors has chosen a leader who is characterized by entrepreneurial thinking, strong decision-making skills and a clear customer focus. Zangerl will continue Centris' strategic development with a focus on further developing the product portfolio, automating processes and opening up the ecosystem to new partners.

Patrick Progin: over two decades at the helm of the company

At the same time, the Board of Directors looks back with great appreciation on Patrick Progin's time in office. In his more than twenty years as CEO, he played a decisive role in the development and positioning of the company. Under his leadership, Centris developed into the market-leading IT outsourcing service provider for health and accident insurers and today stands on a solid foundation as an independent company with stable business figures. Progin will remain active until his retirement at the end of March 2027, thus ensuring an orderly handover.

Centris operates the largest health insurance ecosystem in Switzerland and supports health and accident insurers in the digitalization of their business. The company employs around 340 specialists from the IT and insurance sectors at its Solothurn site. Centris' systems are used to process the invoices of around half of all insured persons in Switzerland.
