Swiss Export Announces Succession Plan: Nicolas Goetsch to Take Over as CEO
Swiss Export is setting the course for the future. Nicolas Goetsch will join the association as managing director-designate on July 6, 2026. On January 1, 2027, he will take over operational management from Claudia Moerker.

Swiss Export is undergoing an orderly leadership transition. With Nicolas Goetsch, the organization is gaining a proven leader with many years of experience as a CEO, entrepreneur, and networker. The transition at the helm of the association has been carefully planned and is being carried out in stages.
Experience in startup support and networking
Nicolas Goetsch combines entrepreneurial thinking with strategic vision and strong execution skills. His particular strength lies in bringing together different perspectives and using them to develop viable solutions. Most recently, he led the Startzentrum Zürich cooperative, where he supported the growth of founders and startups and played a key role in shaping the organization.
With German and French as his native languages, Goetsch also strengthens Swiss Export’s national network and effectively supports its expansion in French-speaking Switzerland.
Careful handover by January 2027
The coming months will be marked by a planned transition. Nicolas Goetsch will gradually get to know Swiss Export’s members, partners, and activities before officially taking over operational management on January 1, 2027. The association’s experienced team remains a key pillar: it combines many years of experience, a high level of expertise, and close ties to the members.

Claudia Moerker, who has played a key role in shaping Swiss Export since 2003, will continue to support the association as a coach and expert even after the handover of operational responsibilities. This ensures that important experience, strong relationships, and valuable knowledge remain within the association.
Next Phase of Development for the Association
Since 2003, Swiss Export has established itself as the national platform and expertise network for Swiss foreign trade. The association, which is organized entirely by the private sector, has over 700 member export companies from various industries. With President Anita Stebler, the Executive Board, and the team, the next phase of development is now beginning—driven by the ongoing mission to connect companies, share knowledge, and support members on their international journey.
