CFO on a Subscription Basis: Switreco Hires Experienced Auditor

The Basel-based trust group Switreco continues to grow and is strategically expanding its range of services. With Fabian Zurfluh, the company has gained an experienced auditor and financial expert who, as Managing Director, is responsible for the Central Region, which includes the Wettingen and Hergiswil offices. At the same time, he is driving the further development of the «CFO as a Service» offering—a model that provides financial management on a subscription basis.

Finance Department: Monthly Subscription

Switreco offers Swiss SMEs fully digitized financial management through a transparent subscription model at a fixed monthly price. In doing so, the company provides small and medium-sized businesses with services that were previously reserved for large companies with their own finance departments. This growth strategy is paying off: In less than three years, the workforce has grown from zero to 20 employees—spread across the three locations of Basel, Wettingen, and Hergiswil.

With the new «CFO as a Service» offering, SMEs and scale-ups that do not have their own CFO—or where the position is temporarily vacant—can delegate the responsibilities of a CFO to Switreco. This includes both operational and strategic tasks such as liquidity planning, budget planning, and forecasting. For companies in their early stages in particular, this model offers the opportunity to manage their finances professionally from the very beginning—without having to allocate additional personnel resources.

Extensive experience in auditing and consulting

Fabian Zurfluh brings many years of experience in the operational management of finance departments, as well as in auditing and consulting. He worked at PwC and Ernst & Young, and subsequently at the major banks UBS and Credit Suisse. Most recently, he worked as a partner and deputy managing director at a trust company while also running his own consulting boutique, where his roles included serving as an external CFO for startups and scale-ups. «Switreco impresses me with its dynamic team and clear vision.
