Skyguide reduces Executive Board from 9 to 5 members
Swiss air navigation service provider Skyguide is realigning its management structure: As of January 1, 2027, the Executive Board will be reduced from nine to five members. The new structure consistently focuses operational responsibility on the core business.
Swiss air navigation service provider Skyguide is drawing the consequences of its ongoing efficiency program: the Board of Directors has decided to reduce the Executive Board from nine to five members as of 1 January 2027. This is the first concrete step in a more comprehensive realignment of the company.
Focus on operations, technology and security
With the new structure, skyguide is pooling its operational responsibility in three core areas: Operations, Technology and Safety and Security. Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Board will in future comprise a Chief Operating Officer, a Chief Technology Officer, a Chief Safety and Security Officer and a Chief People & Financial Officer.
Skyguide is also creating the function of Chief of Staff. This role combines areas such as corporate communications, the legal department and business development. The Chief of Staff reports directly to the CEO, but is not a member of the Executive Board.
Efficiency and stability as guiding principles
The restructuring is characterized by focus and simplicity - and, according to Skyguide, this starts at the top of the company. «The structure of our Executive Board reflects what is important to us: we focus on our core business, work efficiently and make clear decisions. In this way, we strengthen air traffic safety and short paths within the company,» says Peter Merz, CEO of Skyguide.
With the streamlined management structure, the company aims to strengthen its operational and financial stability. The focus here is on safety, service continuity and quality for customers and partners. Skyguide provides basic services for military and civil aviation on behalf of Switzerland and guarantees the sovereignty of the airspace entrusted to it.
All management structures, regulatory responsibilities and operations will remain unchanged until the new composition takes up its work on January 1, 2027.
