Energy storage: one-day course in Biel shows solutions for the energy transition
The Swiss Energy Cluster is organizing a one-day course on energy storage at the Switzerland Innovation Park Biel/Bienne on 17 June 2026. Leading institutions and companies such as Bern University of Applied Sciences, Jenni Energietechnik and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy will be presenting practical storage solutions.

Energy from the sun and wind is clean, renewable and inexhaustible. But how can this energy be used when its production is reduced due to the weather? The answer lies in intelligent energy storage systems. They ensure that the lights stay on even on windless nights, stabilize the electricity grids and prevent valuable energy from being lost. Instead, it is stored, shifted and used at the right moment.
Independence from fossil fuels
The importance of energy storage goes far beyond mere availability: the better energy can be stored, the less dependent Switzerland will be on coal, oil and gas. Storage systems make it possible to use renewable energies on a large scale and thus pave the way to a sustainable future. Energy storage systems are the key to the energy transition and ensure that energy is available when it is needed - and not just when it is generated.
