(Image symbolique : Unsplash)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>L'Institut f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de recherches sur la for\u00eat, la neige et le paysage (<a href=\"\/\/www.wsl.ch\/de.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WSL<\/a>) et son Institut pour l'\u00e9tude de la neige et des avalanches (<a href=\"\/\/www.slf.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SLF<\/a>) a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 quel type de for\u00eat offre la meilleure protection contre les dangers tels que les glissements de terrain. \"Les structures les plus diverses possibles dans la for\u00eat - tant souterraines que superficielles - prot\u00e8gent le mieux contre les glissements de terrain\", indiquent les responsables de l'\u00e9tude dans un r\u00e9cent communiqu\u00e9 de presse.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nouvelles d\u00e9couvertes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les glissements de terrain et les coul\u00e9es de boue sont en grande partie d\u00e9clench\u00e9s par la pluie. En raison du changement climatique et de l'augmentation attendue des fortes pr\u00e9cipitations, \"les glissements de terrain peu profonds et les coul\u00e9es de boue devraient se produire plus souvent\", peut-on lire dans le communiqu\u00e9. Les derni\u00e8res connaissances sur l'effet de la for\u00eat sur les glissements de terrain sont d\u00e9sormais r\u00e9sum\u00e9es par plusieurs chercheurs dans un num\u00e9ro sp\u00e9cial de la revue \"Earth Hour\".\u00a0<a title=\"external-link-new-window\" href=\"\/\/xn--https-ix3b\/\/www.forstverein.ch\/de\/zeitschrift-szf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Suisse. Revue foresti\u00e8re suisse (RSF)\u00a0<\/a>de la for\u00eat. Il en ressort l'importance de l'\u00e9tat de la for\u00eat :<\/p>\n<p>Les for\u00eats tr\u00e8s denses et les surfaces de chablis prot\u00e8gent moins bien contre les glissements de terrain que celles dont le peuplement est \u00e9tag\u00e9. Sur les pentes tr\u00e8s raides, les for\u00eats atteignent toutefois leurs limites : Sur les pentes d'une inclinaison sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 38\u00b0, il y a m\u00eame plus de glissements de terrain par surface en for\u00eat qu'en plein champ. Les for\u00eats situ\u00e9es sur des pentes tr\u00e8s raides sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement moins entretenues et se trouvent principalement dans des zones plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es et plus inhospitali\u00e8res, o\u00f9 l'\u00e9pic\u00e9a, sensible aux perturbations (chablis et scolytes), est \u00e9galement particuli\u00e8rement pr\u00e9sent. Les \u00e9pic\u00e9as n'ont pas de racines profondes et sont donc facilement emport\u00e9s sur les pentes raides.<\/p>\n<p>Des chercheurs de l'Institut f\u00e9d\u00e9ral de recherches sur la for\u00eat, la neige et le paysage (WSL) et du WSL Institut pour l'\u00e9tude de la neige et des avalanches (SLF) ont d\u00e9montr\u00e9 quel type de for\u00eat prot\u00e8ge le mieux gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des jeux de donn\u00e9es \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle sur la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation et les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes naturels. Ils montrent que le reboisement et les perturbations naturelles, comme l'ouragan Lothar, dont on f\u00eatera le 20e anniversaire en d\u00e9cembre, mais aussi la gestion habile de la for\u00eat, peuvent influencer nettement sa fonction de protection contre les glissements de terrain.<\/p>\n<p>\"Des structures aussi vari\u00e9es que possible dans la for\u00eat - aussi bien en surface qu'en sous-sol - constituent la meilleure protection contre les glissements de terrain\", explique Christian Rickli de l'\u00e9quipe de recherche. Cela implique un bon m\u00e9lange d'essences diff\u00e9rentes ainsi qu'une structure d'\u00e2ge vari\u00e9e des arbres.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><em>Pour leurs recherches, les chercheurs du WSL ont eu recours aux informations de leur banque de donn\u00e9es sur les glissements de terrain. Depuis 1997, les donn\u00e9es relatives \u00e0 plus de 750 glissements de terrain y sont enregistr\u00e9es.
