Environ 55 millions de paires de chaussures sont produites chaque ann\u00e9e en Colombie et export\u00e9es dans le monde entier. La production de chaussures est donc l'un des secteurs \u00e9conomiques les plus importants de ce pays sud-am\u00e9ricain. En raison de la concurrence croissante de la Chine, la pression augmente toutefois - surtout sur les nombreux petits ateliers. \"Pour eux, les choses sont loin d'aller bien\", explique Catalina Jossen Cardozo.<\/p>\n

Elle doit le savoir : pendant six ans, cette Colombienne d'origine a travaill\u00e9 dans le secteur en tant qu'entrepreneuse et consultante ind\u00e9pendante.<\/p>\n

Durable et \u00e9quitable<\/h2>\n

C'est par amour que Catalina Jossen Cardozo s'est install\u00e9e en Suisse en 2014 et a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire un master au d\u00e9partement Design & Art de la Haute \u00e9cole de Lucerne. D\u00e8s le d\u00e9but, il \u00e9tait clair pour elle qu'elle voulait consacrer sa th\u00e8se de master \u00e0 l'industrie de la chaussure de son pays d'origine, mais pas en tant que designer de chaussures chics. \"La question centrale \u00e9tait pour moi : comment relier les petits producteurs, les designers et les clients finaux et promouvoir une production durable de chaussures ?\", explique la jeune femme de 35 ans.<\/p>\n

Leur id\u00e9e : une plateforme en ligne, y compris un syst\u00e8me modulaire 3D, permettant aux designers de concevoir des chaussures et de les faire produire en Colombie en petites s\u00e9ries et avec un travail manuel de qualit\u00e9. Les consommateurs finaux ach\u00e8tent les produits, pour la plupart fabriqu\u00e9s sur mesure, \u00e0 un prix raisonnable, et les cordonniers colombiens re\u00e7oivent un salaire \u00e9quitable et participent directement au produit de la vente.<\/p>\n

D'abord un travail de master, puis un projet de recherche<\/h2>\n

Pour son travail intitul\u00e9 \"By Maria\", Catalina Jossen Cardozo a re\u00e7u l'ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re une distinction pour les dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s exceptionnels de la Haute \u00e9cole de Lucerne. Le comit\u00e9 a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 convaincu par \"Bridge\" : le nouveau programme d'encouragement du Fonds national suisse (FNS) et de la Commission pour la technologie et l'innovation (CTI) s'adresse aux jeunes chercheurs qui d\u00e9veloppent leurs connaissances en applications ou services concrets.<\/p>\n

101 id\u00e9es ont \u00e9t\u00e9 soumises lors du premier appel d'offres et onze - dont \"By Maria\" - ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retenues dans le programme. L'une des raisons de cette d\u00e9cision est que le concept de Catalina Jossen Cardozo a \u00e9galement du potentiel pour les industries artisanales traditionnelles en Suisse, qui sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement davantage situ\u00e9es dans le segment des prix moyens \u00e0 \u00e9lev\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Une fondation pour les cordonniers<\/h2>\n

Gr\u00e2ce au programme Bridge, la jeune chercheuse peut poursuivre son travail avec une petite \u00e9quipe internationale. \"\u00c0 Bogot\u00e1, nous avons organis\u00e9 des ateliers avec des cordonniers int\u00e9ress\u00e9s. Nous avons analys\u00e9 comment ils organisaient leur travail jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, de quels mat\u00e9riaux ils disposaient et ce dont ils avaient besoin en termes d'\u00e9quipement suppl\u00e9mentaire ou de savoir-faire.\" Afin de mieux soutenir les cordonniers sur place, la fondation \"By Maria\" a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Celle-ci met gratuitement des \u00e9quipements \u00e0 la disposition des ateliers participants et prend m\u00eame en charge les prestations sociales des collaborateurs des petites entreprises. \"Il est important pour nous que ces derniers ne consid\u00e8rent pas cela comme un simple cadeau\", souligne Jossen Cardozo. C'est pourquoi les cordonniers s'engagent \u00e0 s'investir \u00e0 long terme dans le projet et \u00e0 participer r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 des formations continues gratuites. \"En fin de compte, le client final doit recevoir des produits de haute qualit\u00e9\".<\/p>\n

Tester le concept de durabilit\u00e9<\/h2>\n

Non seulement les besoins des cordonniers, mais aussi ceux des designers et des acheteurs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9s lors d'ateliers, car \"s'ils ne sont pas convaincus, l'outil ne prendra jamais son envol\", explique Catalina Jossen Cardozo. Comment, par exemple, pr\u00e9senter de mani\u00e8re attrayante toute la gamme de pi\u00e8ces d\u00e9tach\u00e9es d'une chaussure - semelles, talons, diff\u00e9rents mat\u00e9riaux de dessus ou fermetures ?<\/p>\n

Comment les instructions pour mesurer un pied ou, plus g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement, les voies de communication dans l'outil doivent-elles \u00eatre con\u00e7ues de mani\u00e8re attrayante et compr\u00e9hensible ? Selon Jossen Cardozo, on se situe ici entre des exigences \u00e9lev\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re de design et des possibilit\u00e9s financi\u00e8res modestes. Jossen Cardozo se souvient qu'il a \u00e9t\u00e9 difficile de faire comprendre cela \u00e0 un informaticien.<\/p>\n

\"Il nous a fallu beaucoup de temps avant de trouver quelqu'un pour programmer la plateforme, qui comprenne que nous n'en sommes qu'au d\u00e9but et qu'il n'est pas certain que nous puissions vraiment gagner de l'argent, ni quand\". Il ne s'agit pas non plus d'une boutique en ligne \u00e0 la Zalando : \"Pour nous, il est d'abord essentiel de v\u00e9rifier si notre concept fonctionne.<\/p>\n

Ce n'est qu'apr\u00e8s avoir acquis de l'exp\u00e9rience que nous pourrons d\u00e9velopper le site web et faire programmer un outil 3D pour les designers\", explique Jossen Cardozo. Elle avance maintenant d'un bon pas vers le test pratique : Cette ann\u00e9e encore, la version test de la plateforme devrait \u00eatre mise en ligne et les premi\u00e8res chaussures \"Made by Maria\" devraient \u00eatre produites.<\/p>\n
