Une entreprise suisse a r\u00e9cemment \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d'une cyber-attaque. Des sp\u00e9cialistes ont entre-temps analys\u00e9 l'ordinateur infect\u00e9. Les informations analys\u00e9es r\u00e9v\u00e8lent une nouvelle tactique d'attaque complexe qui combine des communications t\u00e9l\u00e9phoniques et \u00e9lectroniques cr\u00e9dibles afin de prendre le contr\u00f4le des r\u00e9seaux d'entreprise et de d\u00e9tourner les donn\u00e9es. Le malware lui-m\u00eame a \u00e9t\u00e9 livr\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re tr\u00e8s inhabituelle : un appelant a convaincu la cible de l'attaque d'ouvrir un message \u00e9lectronique qui ne contenait pas de texte, mais \u00e9tait con\u00e7u comme un graphique pour ressembler \u00e0 un message \u00e9lectronique Outlook. Cela a d\u00e9clench\u00e9 le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement d'une application Electron malveillante li\u00e9e.<\/p>\r\n

\"J'aimerais faire une livraison sur votre site\".<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

L'appelant a expliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 l'employ\u00e9 qu'il \u00e9tait chauffeur-livreur avec un colis urgent pour l'un des sites de l'entreprise, mais que personne n'\u00e9tait l\u00e0 pour r\u00e9ceptionner le colis. Il a demand\u00e9 une nouvelle adresse de livraison sur le site de l'employ\u00e9. Pour pouvoir livrer \u00e0 nouveau le colis, le collaborateur devrait lui lire un code que la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d'exp\u00e9dition lui enverrait par e-mail. Alors que l'appelant parlait encore au t\u00e9l\u00e9phone avec l'employ\u00e9, celui-ci a re\u00e7u le message \u00e9lectronique annonc\u00e9. Le message \u00e9lectronique indiquait qu'un fichier PDF joint au message contenait le code requis.<\/p>\r\n

Ce courriel, r\u00e9dig\u00e9 dans un fran\u00e7ais parfait, a d\u00e9clench\u00e9 la cha\u00eene d'attaques qui s'en est suivie. En fait, l'ensemble du message \u00e9tait un faux qui ressemblait simplement \u00e0 un e-mail avec une pi\u00e8ce jointe au format PDF. Tant la \"pi\u00e8ce jointe\" que le message texte n'\u00e9taient en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 que des images statiques int\u00e9gr\u00e9es dans le texte du message. Guid\u00e9 par l'escroc au t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, l'employ\u00e9 cliquait sur l'image, ce qui entra\u00eenait le t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement du logiciel malveillant.<\/p>\r\n

Bien que le message \u00e9lectronique ait \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9dig\u00e9 en fran\u00e7ais, comme nous l'avons mentionn\u00e9, des indices techniques indiquent que les attaquants savaient d\u00e9j\u00e0 que la cible suisse \u00e9tait peut-\u00eatre germanophone. Les analystes de Sophos ont \u00e9galement pu comprendre que les pirates avaient peut-\u00eatre cibl\u00e9 personnellement le destinataire de l'appel et mis en place une cha\u00eene d'attaque d'ing\u00e9nierie sociale \u00e9labor\u00e9e. Celle-ci a conduit les cybercriminels \u00e0 prendre bri\u00e8vement le contr\u00f4le de l'ordinateur de l'employ\u00e9, avant que celui-ci ne d\u00e9branche litt\u00e9ralement la prise (Ethernet) de l'ordinateur compromis. L'homme attentif a senti que quelque chose n'allait pas et a d\u00e9connect\u00e9 l'ordinateur infect\u00e9 du r\u00e9seau. Mais malheureusement pas \u00e0 temps, avant que la charge utile malveillante ne soit active.<\/p>\r\n

\"Cette attaque \u00e9tait extr\u00eamement cibl\u00e9e. Il n'y avait qu'une seule personne au bureau ce vendredi-l\u00e0, et les agresseurs connaissaient probablement l'identit\u00e9 de cette personne. L'utilisation d'une image d\u00e9guis\u00e9e en e-mail est \u00e9galement quelque chose que nous n'avons jamais vu auparavant. Toutefois, c'est intelligent. Joindre un vrai PDF d\u00e9clenche souvent une alarme sur les syst\u00e8mes, car ils sont souvent utilis\u00e9s pour diffuser des malwares, et les e-mails contenant des PDF finissent souvent dans les filtres de spam\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Andrew Brandt, chercheur principal chez Sophos.<\/p>\r\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir p\u00e9n\u00e9tr\u00e9 dans le r\u00e9seau, les criminels ont utilis\u00e9 des logiciels malveillants pour rechercher une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d'informations, y compris des donn\u00e9es de logiciels de comptabilit\u00e9, des cookies, l'historique de navigation ainsi que des mots de passe et des portefeuilles de cryptomonnaies. Pour dissimuler leur fuite de donn\u00e9es, les pirates ont connect\u00e9 le syst\u00e8me \u00e0 Tor (le dark web). L'employ\u00e9 qui a finalement flair\u00e9 le coup et d\u00e9branch\u00e9 la prise a \u00e9vit\u00e9 des cons\u00e9quences plus graves pour son entreprise.<\/p>\r\n

Habilement \"scamm\u00e9\" et \u00e7a continue d\u00e9j\u00e0<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n

\"Ce type d'attaque tr\u00e8s sophistiqu\u00e9e montre jusqu'o\u00f9 les cybercriminels peuvent aller pour contourner les outils de d\u00e9fense et gagner la confiance des gens. Les attaques de phishing sont extr\u00eamement efficaces, et nous avons vu les attaquants d\u00e9velopper leurs tactiques d'ing\u00e9nierie sociale avec les nouvelles technologies. Bien que les attaquants utilisent aujourd'hui davantage le courrier \u00e9lectronique, cela ne signifie pas que les appels t\u00e9l\u00e9phoniques sont d\u00e9pass\u00e9s. Nous formons beaucoup les collaborateurs \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des e-mails, mais nous ne leur apprenons pas forc\u00e9ment \u00e0 g\u00e9rer les appels t\u00e9l\u00e9phoniques inhabituels. Dans ce cas, l'employ\u00e9 a r\u00e9agi rapidement et a eu la pr\u00e9sence d'esprit d'agir\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Brandt.<\/p>\r\n

Apr\u00e8s l'attaque contre l'entreprise suisse, Sophos X-Ops a d\u00e9couvert une autre attaque avec le m\u00eame mode op\u00e9ratoire contre une entreprise en Australie. Quel que soit le groupe \u00e0 l'origine de ces attaques, il est probablement toujours actif et Sophos va surveiller la situation.<\/p>\r\n
