Une nouvelle machine \u00e0 piston, d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e par des experts de l'Empa et des partenaires, utilise plus efficacement la chaleur r\u00e9siduelle industrielle et pourrait \u00eatre mise sur le march\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une \"Empa Entrepreneur Fellowship\" du chercheur Andyn Omanovic. La machine est bas\u00e9e sur une commande de soupape innovante qui rend le changement de gaz plus flexible et r\u00e9duit la consommation de carburant. Cette technologie est d\u00e9j\u00e0 utilis\u00e9e pour les moteurs \u00e0 carburant flexible des v\u00e9hicules utilitaires. Mais elle pourrait aussi \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e pour produire de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9, partout o\u00f9 la chaleur r\u00e9siduelle des processus industriels est produite en grande quantit\u00e9. La chaleur perdue est alors transform\u00e9e en force m\u00e9canique par les pistons, ce qui permet finalement de produire de l'\u00e9lectricit\u00e9. Mais ce processus n'est r\u00e9alisable que gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une nouvelle commande flexible des vannes.<\/p>\n

La nouvelle machine \u00e0 piston est particuli\u00e8rement adapt\u00e9e aux plages de temp\u00e9rature de 500 \u00e0 900 degr\u00e9s et aux plages de puissance allant jusqu'\u00e0 quelques m\u00e9gawatts. Les applications potentielles comprennent l'utilisation de la chaleur r\u00e9siduelle des installations de pyrolyse pour le charbon v\u00e9g\u00e9tal et la combustion de gaz faibles. Une machine pilote pour le fournisseur d'\u00e9nergie IWB \u00e0 B\u00e2le est pr\u00e9vue pour d\u00e9but 2025, suivie d'une petite s\u00e9rie pour une entreprise sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans les installations de combustion de gaz. Des d\u00e9fis techniques tels que les mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9sistants \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature et les strat\u00e9gies de r\u00e9gulation doivent encore \u00eatre surmont\u00e9s, mais les calculs co\u00fbts\/b\u00e9n\u00e9fices sont prometteurs, selon un communiqu\u00e9 de l'Empa. Mais il faut d'abord trouver davantage de mat\u00e9riaux r\u00e9sistants \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature pour la machine, et la strat\u00e9gie de r\u00e9gulation du processus thermodynamique n\u00e9cessite encore des adaptations.<\/p>\n
