Il s'agit de l'agriculture, de la sylviculture, de la p\u00eache, de l'\u00e9nergie, de la production \u00e0 forte intensit\u00e9 de ressources, du recyclage et du tourisme. Un autre tiers de tous les emplois est mod\u00e9r\u00e9ment d\u00e9pendant de l'eau, comme le secteur des loisirs, le transport et l'industrie du b\u00e2timent. Au total, 78% de tous les emplois dans le monde d\u00e9pendent donc de l'eau.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La consommation d'eau augmente chaque ann\u00e9e<\/strong><br \/>\nDepuis les ann\u00e9es 1980, la consommation d'eau douce augmente d'environ 1% par an, principalement en raison de l'augmentation de la consommation dans les pays en croissance et \u00e9mergents. Dans les pays d\u00e9j\u00e0 tr\u00e8s d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s, la consommation est en revanche stable, voire en l\u00e9g\u00e8re baisse.<\/p>\n<p>L'augmentation de la consommation s'explique par l'urbanisation et l'\u00e9l\u00e9vation du niveau de vie, qui s'accompagnent d'une augmentation des besoins en eau, en denr\u00e9es alimentaires (en particulier la viande) et en \u00e9nergie. Le rapport pr\u00e9voit \u00e9galement des opportunit\u00e9s de croissance pour certains secteurs, comme le traitement des eaux us\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Mais en m\u00eame temps, l'ONU met en garde : si l'eau douce vient \u00e0 manquer, cela pourrait limiter les chances de croissance dans les ann\u00e9es et les d\u00e9cennies \u00e0 venir et emp\u00eacher la cr\u00e9ation de bons emplois. S'il n'y a pas d'infrastructures - comme c'est encore le cas dans de nombreux pays - des r\u00e9gions et des pays peuvent \u00eatre coup\u00e9s d'un approvisionnement en eau suffisant. De plus, si l'eau disponible est de mauvaise qualit\u00e9, des ressources financi\u00e8res importantes seront absorb\u00e9es par le traitement de l'eau.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le changement climatique aggrave les p\u00e9nuries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La p\u00e9nurie d'eau peut en outre entra\u00eener des crises dans les pays concern\u00e9s, lorsque diff\u00e9rents groupes de consommateurs se font concurrence pour les ressources limit\u00e9es. Le sc\u00e9nario est en outre aggrav\u00e9 par le changement climatique, qui entra\u00eene dans de nombreux endroits une nouvelle rar\u00e9faction des ressources en eau.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investir dans l'eau, c'est investir dans l'emploi<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L'ONU consid\u00e8re les investissements dans l'approvisionnement en eau comme une condition indispensable \u00e0 la croissance \u00e9conomique et donc \u00e0 l'emploi.
