Le bois a le vent en poupe en tant que mat\u00e9riau de construction de haute qualit\u00e9 \u00e9cologique. En effet, construire en bois permet de pr\u00e9server le climat et d'\u00e9viter les \u00e9missions de CO2. Cette mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re pr\u00e9sente donc un grand potentiel pour l'\u00e9conomie circulaire. Mais : \"Aujourd'hui, le bois ne reste pas assez longtemps dans le cycle des mat\u00e9riaux\", explique Sonja Geier, directrice adjointe du centre de comp\u00e9tences Typologie & planification en architecture (CCTP) \u00e0 la Haute \u00e9cole de Lucerne (HSLU). Que faut-il donc pour que le bois puisse non seulement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 une fois, mais aussi r\u00e9utilis\u00e9 lorsqu'une construction en bois est \u00e0 nouveau d\u00e9molie ? Comment l'\u00e9conomie circulaire est-elle possible pour la construction en bois ?<\/p>\n

Cr\u00e9er des bases, d\u00e9velopper des solutions<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les planificateurs et les ma\u00eetres d'ouvrage ne disposaient pas des bases n\u00e9cessaires pour appliquer les principes de l'\u00e9conomie circulaire \u00e0 la construction moderne en bois. Sonja Geier et son \u00e9quipe ont donc \u00e9tudi\u00e9, en collaboration avec la chaire d'architecture et de construction en bois de l'universit\u00e9 technique de Munich (TUM), les barri\u00e8res et les obstacles, mais aussi les opportunit\u00e9s et les potentiels. Pour ce faire, les chercheurs ont examin\u00e9 l'ensemble de la cha\u00eene de processus, de la planification \u00e0 l'utilisation en passant par la construction. Ce n'est que gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 cette analyse qu'ils ont pu d\u00e9velopper des strat\u00e9gies de solution et des recommandations d'action pour une \u00e9conomie circulaire de la construction en bois.<\/p>\n

Le projet circularWOOD pose ainsi les bases d'innovations techniques et de pratiques durables tout au long de la cha\u00eene de valeur de la construction en bois. \"Le potentiel du bois en tant que mat\u00e9riau de construction circulaire n'est pas encore \u00e9puis\u00e9. Avec circularWOOD, nous voulons pr\u00e9parer le changement de paradigme dans la construction en bois\", explique Sonja Geier.<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur travail, la HSLU et la TUM ont remport\u00e9 le Sustainability Challenge 2024 dans la cat\u00e9gorie Recherche. Le prix est d\u00e9cern\u00e9 par un jury d'experts de la Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB). Le DGNB Sustainability Challenge recherche des \"innovations qui remettent en question l'existant, initient la nouveaut\u00e9 et provoquent le changement\". Depuis 2019, l'association \u00e0 but non lucratif d\u00e9cerne ce prix de l'innovation dans trois cat\u00e9gories : innovation, start-up et recherche. Cette ann\u00e9e, le jury d'experts a re\u00e7u un nombre record de 145 candidatures.<\/p>\n
