(Image : www.zhaw.ch)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Pour la troisi\u00e8me fois d\u00e9j\u00e0, le Fonds national suisse FNS a attribu\u00e9 des subsides Practice to Science \u00e0 des expertes et experts disposant d'une exp\u00e9rience pratique av\u00e9r\u00e9e. Trois des prix convoit\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9cern\u00e9s \u00e0 des membres du d\u00e9partement Sciences de la vie et Facility Management du ZAHW \u00e0 W\u00e4denswil. Une chercheuse de l'Institut Computational Life Sciences et deux chercheurs de l'Institut de chimie et de biotechnologie ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9compens\u00e9s. Dans toute la Suisse, seuls 20 chercheurs de hautes \u00e9coles sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es (HES) et de hautes \u00e9coles p\u00e9dagogiques (HEP) b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient de cette bourse ; au total, 73 demandes d'encouragement ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9pos\u00e9es aupr\u00e8s du FNS dans le cadre de cette mise au concours. Les prestigieux subsides Practice-to-Science doivent contribuer \u00e0 promouvoir la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 de la recherche orient\u00e9e vers l'application.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sandro Manni : outil de diagnostic pour les enzymes dans le plasma sanguin <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les enzymes jouent un r\u00f4le d\u00e9cisif dans le contr\u00f4le et la modulation des processus physiologiques, mais aussi pathologiques. Dans ces derniers, elles peuvent avoir un impact n\u00e9gatif sur l'\u00e9volution de la maladie ou, dans le pire des cas, la faire progresser activement. L'identification et la quantification des enzymes impliqu\u00e9es sont d'une importance capitale, car elles pourraient potentiellement \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme de nouveaux biomarqueurs pour un grand nombre de maladies. L'objectif du projet \"Activity-based proteomic profiling in human plasma\" est de d\u00e9velopper une plateforme technologique de chimioprot\u00e9omique bas\u00e9e sur une approche in\u00e9dite. Il s'agit ainsi de cr\u00e9er un outil de diagnostic permettant d'analyser de nouveaux processus enzymatiques dans le plasma sanguin. Sandro Manni travaille depuis juin 2023 en tant que charg\u00e9 de cours \u00e0 la ZHAW et responsable du groupe sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 \"Chimie clinique\" \u00e0 l'Institut de chimie et de biotechnologie. Apr\u00e8s des \u00e9tudes de biochimie \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 de Berne, il a obtenu son doctorat \u00e0 l'Institut Paul Scherrer de Villigen. Avant de rejoindre la ZHAW, il a travaill\u00e9 chez CSL Behring \u00e0 Berne, en dernier lieu en tant que Principal Scientist et Group Leader.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Thomas Pielhop : La lignocellulose comme mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re pour la chimie fine <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>L'acide hyaluronique est largement utilis\u00e9, par exemple dans les produits pharmaceutiques ou cosm\u00e9tiques. Jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, cette substance \u00e9tait toutefois produite \u00e0 partir de biomasse comestible. Le projet \"Sustainable hyaluronic acid production from lignocellulosic biomass\" de Thomas Pielhop vise \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une approche in\u00e9dite, que l'acide hyaluronique peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre produit \u00e0 partir de la lignocellulose. Celle-ci provient par exemple de d\u00e9chets de bois ou de paille de ma\u00efs. La lignocellulose n'entre donc pas en concurrence avec la production alimentaire, mais elle est plus difficile \u00e0 traiter. Dans un contexte plus large, le projet vise \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer que des produits de chimie fine peuvent \u00eatre fabriqu\u00e9s \u00e0 partir de la lignocellulose. En effet, l'industrie chimique veut s'\u00e9loigner du p\u00e9trole et du gaz naturel et est tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ress\u00e9e par les mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res de substitution.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Pielhop a rejoint la ZHAW d\u00e9but 2022 en tant que charg\u00e9 de cours et met en place le groupe sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 \"Biobasierte Rohstoffe\" (mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res biosourc\u00e9es) \u00e0 l'Institut de chimie et de biotechnologie. Apr\u00e8s des \u00e9tudes d'ing\u00e9nierie chimique \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 technique de Munich, il a obtenu son doctorat \u00e0 l'EPF de Zurich. Il a \u00e9t\u00e9 chef de laboratoire et ing\u00e9nieur chimiste pour le d\u00e9veloppement de proc\u00e9d\u00e9s chez Givaudan \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve avant de rejoindre la ZHAW.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Yulia Sandamirskaya : Perception en temps r\u00e9el pour les robots collaboratifs <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Les robots collaboratifs actuels sont en fait aveugles lorsqu'ils se d\u00e9placent - parce qu'ils per\u00e7oivent leur environnement beaucoup trop lentement. Une utilisation s\u00fbre et efficace \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 d'\u00eatres humains, par exemple dans le secteur de la sant\u00e9 ou dans les h\u00f4tels, n'est donc pas possible. Dans le cadre du projet \"Brain-inspired vision technologies for assistive robots\", un nouveau concept de calcul pour la perception visuelle des robots doit \u00eatre d\u00e9velopp\u00e9. Il permet un traitement visuel rapide et en temps r\u00e9el, un apprentissage continu et une correction autonome des erreurs, ainsi qu'une int\u00e9gration \u00e9troite de la perception visuelle, de la planification des mouvements et du contr\u00f4le. Le concept de calcul s'inspire des derni\u00e8res d\u00e9couvertes en mati\u00e8re de neurosciences computationnelles et de recherche sur les syst\u00e8mes cognitifs.<\/p>\n<p>Yulia Sandamirskaya a rejoint la ZHAW en avril 2023 et dirige le p\u00f4le de recherche \"Cognitive Computing in Life Sciences\". Apr\u00e8s des \u00e9tudes de physique \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 d'\u00c9tat bi\u00e9lorusse de Minsk, elle a obtenu son doctorat \u00e0 l'Universit\u00e9 de la Ruhr \u00e0 Bochum.
