(Graphique : Haute \u00e9cole de Lucerne)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Le succ\u00e8s de la place \u00e9conomique suisse d\u00e9pend en grande partie de la r\u00e9ussite des petites et moyennes entreprises (PME) des secteurs les plus divers. Comme la Suisse, en tant que march\u00e9 national, est rapidement satur\u00e9e, notamment pour les offres de niche hautement sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9es, de nombreuses PME suisses cherchent tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t \u00e0 r\u00e9ussir \u00e0 l'\u00e9tranger. Jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, la recherche sur l'internationalisation des entreprises s'est concentr\u00e9e sur les grandes entreprises et les multinationales. Il manquait jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent une \u00e9tude syst\u00e9matique sur les conditions particuli\u00e8res et les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires en mati\u00e8re de direction et de gestion dans les PME.<\/p>\n<h2>L'internationalisation chez les PME s'oriente vers les opportunit\u00e9s<\/h2>\n<p>Une \u00e9tude de la Haute \u00e9cole de Lucerne, soutenue par Innosuisse, montre d\u00e9sormais que l'internationalisation des PME et des grands groupes diff\u00e8re nettement. \"Les petites et moyennes entreprises s'internationalisent en cycles rapides, s'orientent en fonction des opportunit\u00e9s ou des hasards qui se pr\u00e9sentent et d\u00e9pendent fortement de l'esprit d'entreprise et des comp\u00e9tences de direction et de gestion des cadres\", explique le professeur Ingo Stolz, responsable du projet, en d\u00e9crivant la situation initiale issue d'entretiens qualitatifs avec plus de 20 PME suisses. Cela contredit les descriptions et les mod\u00e8les utilis\u00e9s jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, qui d\u00e9crivent traditionnellement l'internationalisation par \u00e9tapes comme un processus lin\u00e9aire et strat\u00e9gique. Dans l'\u00e9tude quantitative qui a suivi, les chercheurs ont relev\u00e9 les caract\u00e9ristiques des comp\u00e9tences d'internationalisation aupr\u00e8s de quelque 70 autres entreprises. Les questions suivantes \u00e9taient au centre de l'\u00e9tude : quelles sont les voies qui m\u00e8nent \u00e0 une internationalisation r\u00e9ussie des PME ? Quelles comp\u00e9tences de direction et de gestion sont importantes pour emprunter ces voies ? Comment peut-on mesurer si les comp\u00e9tences n\u00e9cessaires sont suffisamment pr\u00e9sentes ? Et comment ces comp\u00e9tences peuvent-elles \u00eatre d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es, si n\u00e9cessaire ?<\/p>\n<h2>Entre intuition et d\u00e9cision rationnelle<\/h2>\n<p>Les dirigeants de PME accompagnent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement les projets d'internationalisation \u00e0 travers trois phases : une phase de d\u00e9marrage pour rechercher les sc\u00e9narios et les opportunit\u00e9s possibles ; une phase de consolidation pour tester une id\u00e9e de mise en \u0153uvre concr\u00e8te par le lancement de projets pilotes ; et une phase d'\u00e9tablissement pour la mise en \u0153uvre cons\u00e9quente et la mise \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle d'un projet d'internationalisation. Au cours de ces trois phases, le dirigeant d'une PME est confront\u00e9, plus que dans toute autre situation commerciale, \u00e0 deux tensions : il doit d'une part identifier le bon moment pour agir de mani\u00e8re intuitive ou pour prendre des d\u00e9cisions rationnelles. Et d'autre part, il doit utiliser efficacement les ressources existantes, sans pour autant manquer le moment d'investir courageusement dans la nouveaut\u00e9.<\/p>\n<h2>L'internationalisation exige des comp\u00e9tences multiples<\/h2>\n<p>Les comp\u00e9tences de direction et de gestion pour l'internationalisation doivent \u00eatre r\u00e9parties en sept sous-domaines : Conscience des risques, strat\u00e9gie, organisation capable d'apprendre, esprit d'entreprise, comp\u00e9tence interculturelle, partenariats internationaux et orientation vers le march\u00e9. Les dirigeants de PME qui s'internationalisent avec succ\u00e8s disposent de bonnes comp\u00e9tences en mati\u00e8re d'internationalisation dans les sept domaines partiels. Selon la phase d'internationalisation, les comp\u00e9tences au sein de ces sept sous-domaines sont plus ou moins d\u00e9velopp\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Le mod\u00e8le lucernois d'internationalisation des PME (voir graphique), issu du projet, r\u00e9sume ces conclusions. Sur cette base, l'\u00e9quipe de recherche a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un instrument de mesure permettant de d\u00e9terminer les comp\u00e9tences de direction et de gestion des dirigeants de PME dans les domaines pertinents pour l'internationalisation. Cela permet non seulement de recenser les comp\u00e9tences existantes et les \u00e9ventuelles lacunes, mais aussi d'engager les \u00e9tapes de d\u00e9veloppement correspondantes.<\/p>\n<p>Les r\u00e9sultats de l'\u00e9tude sont disponibles d\u00e8s maintenant sur <a href=\"http:\/\/hslu.ch\/kmu-international\">hslu.ch\/kmu-international<\/a> sont librement disponibles au t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement. Ils seront enrichis lors de l'International Leadership Forum Luzern (ILFL) par les exp\u00e9riences concr\u00e8tes des entreprises partenaires du projet de recherche. Dans le cadre d'un dialogue ouvert, les entrepreneurs de PME et les cadres dirigeants sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 discuter \u00e0 l'ILFL de l'internationalisation des PME sur la base de ces derniers r\u00e9sultats de recherche, \u00e0 \u00e9changer les meilleures pratiques et \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir des approches entrepreneuriales innovantes.
