A l'avenir, les bouteilles PET seront fabriqu\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de la biomasse.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Les deux plus grands fournisseurs d'eau en bouteille, Danone et Nestl\u00e9 Wasser, veulent s'associer \u00e0 la startup californienne Mat\u00e9riaux d'origine<\/a> d\u00e9velopper une bouteille en PET renouvelable 100% qui puisse \u00eatre utilis\u00e9e \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle commerciale. Le projet utilise de la biomasse issue de d\u00e9chets - comme du carton usag\u00e9 ou de la sciure de bois. Ainsi, la fabrication des bouteilles ne devrait pas n\u00e9cessiter de ressources et de terres suppl\u00e9mentaires, ni \u00eatre d\u00e9tourn\u00e9e de la production de denr\u00e9es alimentaires et d'aliments pour animaux.<\/p>\n

Utiliser des ressources durables<\/strong><\/p>\n

L'objectif est de parvenir \u00e0 une \u00e9conomie circulaire pour les emballages, selon le directeur du d\u00e9veloppement de Danone, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Jouin. Cela doit se faire d'une part par l'utilisation de ressources durables, et d'autre part par un deuxi\u00e8me recyclage de tous les mat\u00e9riaux plastiques. \"Nous pensons qu'il est possible de remplacer les mat\u00e9riaux fossiles traditionnels par des mat\u00e9riaux d'emballage biosourc\u00e9s\", explique Jouin. Les nouvelles bouteilles doivent \u00eatre aussi l\u00e9g\u00e8res, transparentes, recyclables et compatibles avec leur contenu que le PET actuel.<\/p>\n

La technologie actuelle permet d'utiliser environ 30% de PET biosourc\u00e9 dans la production de bouteilles. Le nouveau d\u00e9veloppement devrait permettre d'augmenter cette proportion \u00e0 100%. Origin Materials parvient jusqu'\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00e0 fabriquer des produits pilotes contenant jusqu'\u00e0 80% de mat\u00e9riau biosourc\u00e9 ; la production commerciale de bouteilles contenant 60+% de PET biosourc\u00e9 devrait d\u00e9marrer en 2018. Dans un premier temps, 5000 tonnes de ce nouveau mat\u00e9riau seront mises sur le march\u00e9. La vision de l'alliance est de produire commercialement des bouteilles en PET contenant au moins 95% de PET biosourc\u00e9 d'ici 2020.<\/p>\n
