En tant que pionnier dans ce que l'on appelle le \"Urban Mining\", le canton de Zurich mise de mani\u00e8re cons\u00e9quente sur la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de mat\u00e9riaux de valeur \u00e0 partir de l'h\u00e9ritage de notre soci\u00e9t\u00e9 et fait ainsi du canton de Zurich une mine de mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res tr\u00e8s productive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Refermer un circuit interrompu<\/strong><br \/>\nUne mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re pr\u00e9cieuse qui se retrouve encore aujourd'hui dans les d\u00e9chets est le phosphore - une substance indispensable et irrempla\u00e7able pour la production alimentaire. Depuis 2006, les boues d'\u00e9puration provenant des stations d'\u00e9puration des eaux us\u00e9es ne peuvent plus \u00eatre \u00e9pandues sur les champs comme engrais, car elles contiennent trop de substances nocives. Le phosphore contenu dans les boues d'\u00e9puration ne peut donc plus \u00eatre r\u00e9introduit dans le cycle naturel des mati\u00e8res. C'est pourquoi le canton de Zurich a compl\u00e8tement r\u00e9organis\u00e9 l'\u00e9limination de ses boues d'\u00e9puration en l'espace de quelques ann\u00e9es. Avec la mise en service de la nouvelle installation centrale de valorisation des boues d'\u00e9puration \u00e0 Zurich, pratiquement 100 % du phosphore pr\u00e9sent dans les boues d'\u00e9puration est disponible pour \u00eatre r\u00e9cup\u00e9r\u00e9 et les co\u00fbts d'\u00e9limination des boues d'\u00e9puration dans le canton de Zurich ont pu \u00eatre r\u00e9duits de plus de la moiti\u00e9. Parall\u00e8lement, le canton de Zurich s'est fix\u00e9 pour objectif de d\u00e9velopper un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 permettant d'extraire le phosphore des cendres des boues d'\u00e9puration dans le respect de l'environnement, afin qu'il soit disponible sous forme pure en tant que mati\u00e8re premi\u00e8re et marchandise pour les processus industriels, par exemple pour la fabrication d'engrais pour les plantes. Ainsi, le cycle naturel du phosphore sera \u00e0 nouveau boucl\u00e9 et la Suisse ne d\u00e9pendra plus \u00e0 long terme des importations de phosphore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Une r\u00e9ussite en laboratoire<\/strong><br \/>\nAujourd'hui, le canton de Zurich a fait un pas d\u00e9cisif vers cet objectif. En collaboration avec le partenaire technologique renomm\u00e9 T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas SA (Espagne), la fondation Zentrum f\u00fcr nachhaltige Abfall- und Ressourcennutzung (ZAR), cofond\u00e9e par le canton de Zurich \u00e0 Hinwil et Zuchwil, a r\u00e9ussi pour la premi\u00e8re fois en octobre 2015 \u00e0 produire en laboratoire de l'acide phosphorique de haute qualit\u00e9 \u00e0 partir de cendres de boues d'\u00e9puration zurichoises. Ce succ\u00e8s constitue une \u00e9tape importante sur la voie de la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration du phosphore des boues d'\u00e9puration \u00e0 l'\u00e9chelle industrielle.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Le canton de Zurich soutient la poursuite du d\u00e9veloppement<\/strong><br \/>\nLa fondation ZAR va maintenant \u00e9tudier la faisabilit\u00e9 technique du proc\u00e9d\u00e9 dans une installation pilote, en collaboration avec T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas SA. Le canton de Zurich soutient cette phase de d\u00e9veloppement dans le sens d'un financement initial avec une contribution de 2 millions de francs, soit 60 pour cent des co\u00fbts, comme vient de le d\u00e9cider le Conseil d'Etat. Les 40% restants, soit 1,3 million de francs, seront pris en charge par le partenaire technologique T\u00e9cnicas Reunidas SA. Les clarifications \u00e0 venir montreront quels seraient les co\u00fbts pour un utilisateur commercial.
