Un nuovo studio dell'Universit\u00e0 di Zurigo spiega perch\u00e9: secondo lo studio, una ragione importante \u00e8 che gli uomini abbandonano selettivamente le professioni che sono sempre pi\u00f9 occupate dalle donne.<\/p>\r\n<p>Esiste ancora un forte divario tra i sessi nel mercato del lavoro, anche se negli ultimi 50 anni la situazione occupazionale dei due sessi \u00e8 diventata pi\u00f9 equa. Ad esempio, molte professioni di cura sono a prevalenza femminile, mentre molti mestieri specializzati sono svolti principalmente da uomini. Perch\u00e9? L'Universit\u00e0 di Zurigo ha cercato di spiegarlo in un nuovo studio. Secondo lo studio, la teoria della ricerca di genere prevede che gli uomini abbandonino selettivamente le professioni e le specializzazioni che sono occupate da un maggior numero di donne.<\/p>\r\n<h3>Teoria testata empiricamente<\/h3>\r\n<p>Per Block, professore di sociologia all'Universit\u00e0 di Zurigo, ha testato empiricamente la teoria utilizzando nuovi metodi di ricerca sulle reti. Il mercato del lavoro \u00e8 inteso come una rete in cui i lavoratori collegano diverse professioni con i loro cambiamenti di carriera. In questo modo \u00e8 possibile analizzare se gli uomini abbandonano selettivamente le professioni che si stanno femminilizzando. A tal fine si prendono in considerazione le varie caratteristiche occupazionali che incanalano uomini e donne verso professioni diverse. I dati empirici dello studio provengono dalla Gran Bretagna, dove il mercato del lavoro presenta analogie con molti Paesi europei, ma anche con quelli nordamericani.<\/p>\r\n<p>I risultati mostrano chiaramente che gli uomini hanno meno probabilit\u00e0 di rimanere in occupazioni in cui passano pi\u00f9 donne. Ad esempio, lo studio mette a confronto due ipotetiche professioni identiche in tutte le caratteristiche occupazionali, che differiscono solo per il fatto che il 25% dei lavoratori di una e il 75% dei lavoratori dell'altra sono donne. \"L'analisi mostra che gli uomini hanno il doppio delle probabilit\u00e0 di lasciare la professione che si femminilizza\", spiega il professor Block. L'effetto di questo comportamento \u00e8 oggetto di uno studio di simulazione in cui le donne e gli uomini non sono influenzati dal genere degli altri dipendenti delle professioni.
