Una cosa \u00e8 certa: oltre il 98% delle nanoplastiche sono trattenute nei fanghi di depurazione. I ricercatori sono stati in grado di dimostrarlo perch\u00e9 hanno incorporato il prezioso metallo palladio come tracciante nella plastica artificiale in miniatura.<\/p>\n<p>Tuttavia, molta microplastica finisce letteralmente nell'ambiente. Il metodo innovativo dei ricercatori ha quindi un grande potenziale per rintracciare il comportamento delle nanoplastiche nei sistemi tecnici e nell'ambiente anche in altri casi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quanta nanoplastica entra nell'ambiente?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Minuscole particelle di plastica dell'ordine di 100 nanometri (milionesimi di millimetro) sono usate in molti prodotti, per esempio per incapsulare coloranti o profumi o come additivi in shampoo e cosmetici. Molti di essi finiscono direttamente nelle acque reflue mentre il prodotto \u00e8 ancora in uso. Insieme ad altre plastiche, per esempio dall'usura dei pneumatici attraverso il drenaggio stradale, finiscono negli impianti di depurazione. Ma finora non \u00e8 stato possibile misurarli veramente l\u00ec. A differenza delle particelle pi\u00f9 grandi (microplastiche), non possono essere semplicemente setacciate e pesate o contate. Cos\u00ec - a parte i calcoli dei modelli - non era chiaro quanta nanoplastica viene trattenuta negli impianti di trattamento delle acque reflue e quanta ne finisce nell'ambiente.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Ora ha<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">n: Per fare questo, hanno prodotto particelle di plastica nel cui nucleo hanno incorporato il metallo prezioso palladio.
