La polvere fine pu\u00f2 causare asma, tosse cronica, bronchite o altre malattie respiratorie, cos\u00ec come malattie polmonari tra cui il cancro ai polmoni. Pertanto, le polveri sottili sono state classificate come cancerogene dall'Agenzia dell'OMS per la ricerca sul cancro (IARC) dal 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Due approcci di igiene dell'aria a confronto<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">Le polveri fini sono regolamentate in Svizzera con limiti d'immissione scientificamente fondati, mentre per altre sostanze cancerogene si applica il principio di minimizzazione, assumendo un \"rischio accettato\" di un decesso per 1 milione di abitanti.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">La Commissione federale per l'igiene dell'aria (<a href=\"\/\/www.ekl.admin.ch\">EKL<\/a>) ha nel suo rapporto appena pubblicato <a href=\"\/\/www.ekl.admin.ch\/inhalte\/ekl-dateien\/dokumentation\/EKL-Immissionsgrenzwerte-und-akzeptierte-Risiken_de.pdf\">\"Limiti di qualit\u00e0 dell'aria ambiente e rischi accettati\": Due concetti di igiene dell'aria per il particolato e il cancro ai polmoni a confronto\".<\/a> ha confrontato e valutato i due approcci usando il cancro ai polmoni come esempio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif;\">La FCAH conclude che i valori limite d'immissione per il particolato sono superiori al concetto di \"rischio accettato\" per la politica di controllo dell'inquinamento atmosferico. Secondo la FCAH, i valori limite d'immissione rappresentano uno strumento pragmatico, trasparente ed efficiente per un controllo dell'inquinamento atmosferico efficace e orientato all'impatto. La FCAH raccomanda che il particolato continui ad essere valutato con valori limite di immissioni e che questi vengano aggiustati se necessario.
