L'ufficio a pianta aperta impiega non solo i capi dipartimento, ma anche gli accademici. Il Carta dei due scienziati<\/a><\/strong> Ethan Bernstein e Stephen Turban si basa su due esperimenti empirici sul campo in cui gli impiegati sono stati dotati di dispositivi portatili che hanno registrato il loro comportamento di comunicazione. Inoltre, \u00e8 stata valutata la comunicazione elettronica, come le chat, la posta o le telefonate.<\/p>\n

Lo studio dice degli uffici open space: \"Contrariamente alla credenza popolare, il volume delle interazioni faccia a faccia \u00e8 diminuito significativamente (di circa 70%) mentre la quota di comunicazione elettronica \u00e8 aumentata di conseguenza.<\/p>\n

Secondo gli autori, un'architettura di ufficio aperta non promuove in alcun modo uno scambio diretto reciprocamente vantaggioso nelle conversazioni personali, ma piuttosto fa s\u00ec che gli impiegati tendano a ritirarsi dai loro colleghi e a comunicare invece via e-mail o messaggistica istantanea.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Per esempio, una delle aziende coinvolte nello studio ha fatto rimuovere tutte le pareti divisorie da un piano dell'ufficio. Per la carta, i dipendenti sono stati osservati per 15 giorni prima della rimozione delle pareti e per 15 giorni dopo.<\/p>\n

Il risultato: quando c'erano ancora piccoli uffici, i colleghi parlavano direttamente tra loro per una media di 5,8 ore al giorno. Nell'ufficio aperto, il tempo per la conversazione diretta si \u00e8 ridotto a 1,7 ore al giorno.
