Sustainable Shapers: New award for shapers of sustainability
Sustainable Switzerland, the sustainability platform of the NZZ company, is honoring Switzerland's "Sustainable Shapers" for the first time in 2025: Outstanding personalities who are shaping, influencing and driving sustainable development - in and from Switzerland. Nominations are now open online.
Sustainable Switzerland is a platform for sustainability in Switzerland that was launched on the initiative of the NZZ company with strong partners from business and science. The network is now creating a new award with "Sustainable Shapers". The aim is to recognize pioneers, doers and thought leaders who set a strong example for a sustainable future with their entrepreneurial or social commitment and innovative, groundbreaking concepts. Sustainability is understood as a holistic concept: Ecological, entrepreneurial and social. "With the award, we want to further strengthen the awareness and relevance of the topic of sustainability among the general public - through role models and future-oriented visions," says Felix Graf, CEO of NZZ. "The focus is deliberately on people and not on organizations, companies or projects."
Media platform
The "Sustainable Shapers" benefit from an effective media presence in the Sustainable Switzerland environment. They are portrayed over several weeks in a series of different media formats, for example in the "Sustainability" supplement of the "Neue Zürcher Zeitung". Their award gives them visibility and impact as inspiring voices for a sustainable future. They also gain access to the Sustainable Switzerland community, which offers them unique networking opportunities and synergy potential in the field of sustainability. An independent jury of experts and Sustainable Switzerland network partners selects the "Sustainable Shapers" in the three categories "Leadership & Transformation", "Knowledge & Opinion" and "Vision & Innovation". They will be honored at the Sustainable Switzerland Forum, which will take place in Bern on September 2, 2025.
Nominations possible until the end of June
The nomination phase runs from now until June 30, 2025. Nominations and self-applications can be submitted on the website sustainableswitzerland.ch/shapers can be submitted. Further information on the "Sustainable Shapers" award can also be found there.
