Outplacement: finding a new job faster thanks to experience and a network
Current publications of outplacement statistics for the year 2024 show Experienced workers find a new job more quickly - also thanks to a strategic network.

In 2024, outplacement candidates found a new professional challenge within five months on average. Particularly pleasing: for skilled workers aged 50 and over, the average transition period was around six months - a significant improvement on previous years. This shows that experienced employees are increasingly valued and reintegrated into the labor market more quickly.
The power of strategic networking
According to the latest statistics from outplacement consultancy Right Management, a third of people who were supported by outplacement programs in 2024 also changed industries as part of their job change. Particularly noteworthy: over half of all successful placements were made via alternative channels - beyond traditional job boards. This underlines the increasing importance of strategic networks and individual career paths. This trend is particularly important for specialists and managers over 50. For them, the targeted establishment and maintenance of contacts is becoming increasingly relevant - whether to gain access to hidden job vacancies or to successfully overcome hurdles in the digital application process.
More and more industry changes
Marco Sommer, Head of Career Management at Right Management and President of the Swiss Outplacement Association, confirms this development: "More and more jobseekers are not only changing employer, but also industry. This makes it all the more important that they are aware of their transferable skills, sharpen their personal branding and actively use their professional and private networks. Right Management has made targeted investments in this area - particularly in our Job Connections expertise - in order to support our clients even more effectively."
The study "From Stagnation to Agility" by Right Management on career development also shows that the vast majority of Swiss employees remain loyal to their organization. 83% state that they intend to stay with their employer in the near future - a higher figure than the European average (77%).
