Prix SVC Espace Mittelland becomes Prix SVC Wirtschaftsraum Bern
The next regional Prix SVC awards ceremony will take place on March 10, 2027 in the Kursaal in Bern. As part of the reorganization of the SVC award regions, the name of the prestigious SME award will be changed. The former Prix SVC Espace Mittelland will now be known as the Prix SVC Wirtschaftsraum Bern.
The SVC has been committed to promoting SME entrepreneurship in Switzerland for 25 years. The awards of the renowned Prix SVC have become established events throughout Switzerland and are held regularly in all economic and language regions of Switzerland.
From 2026, the new Prix SVC Aargau Solothurn another award ceremony will be added. On April 30, 2026, the Prix SVC will be awarded for the first time in this new economic region - at the premises of Emil Frey Classics AG in Safenwil.
The companies from the canton of Solothurn, which previously belonged to the catchment area of the Prix SVC Espace Mittelland, will be taken over by the new award region. The SVC has therefore decided to rename the prize awarded in Bern. It will now operate under the label «Prix SVC Wirtschaftsraum Bern» and nominate companies from the canton of Bern.
The 18-member jury of experts headed by Jürg Schwarzenbach will select the companies nominated for the Prix SVC and then evaluate them according to the SVC criteria that apply throughout Switzerland. With the exception of Wolf Röcken, Editor-in-Chief of Berner Zeitung BZ, who has taken over the jury seat from Simon Bärtschi, the jury remains unchanged. Reto Portmann, Head of Corporate & Real Estate Banking Region Bern at UBS, will chair the organizing committee.
The jury has already begun its task. The five finalists for the Prix SVC Bern Economic Area will be announced in fall 2026.
