Preview 11th Swiss Green Economy Symposium
From September 5 to 7, 2023, the 11th Swiss Green Economy Symposium will take place in Winterthur. It is probably the most comprehensive conference on economy and sustainability in Switzerland. This year, the SGES will focus on the question: How can we achieve sustainable results even faster and more effectively through improved collaboration?

Since 2013, the Swiss Green Economy Symposium has been using concrete examples to show how cooperation between business, politics, science and NGOs can contribute to greater prosperity, environmental protection and more peaceful coexistence. Solutions are discussed and recipes for success are shared. The symposium inspires its participants - decision-makers, implementers and innovators - to take concrete action.
The motto of the Swiss Green Economy Symposium 2023 is: "Creating more impact together". How can we achieve our goals together? The Swiss Green Economy Symposium aims to provide a comprehensive platform to discuss these questions, exchange ideas and foster partnerships.
Start with company visits
SGES starts already in the afternoon of Tuesday, September 5, with the new module SGEXperience (company visits). The companies Burckhardt Compression, Stadler Rail, WinGD and Zimmer Biomet open their doors to the participants and present their efforts for a more sustainable future.
On Wednesday, September 6, following a video message from Federal Councilor Albert Rösti, keynotes and panel discussions will address the following important questions: How can data and technologies help promote sustainability? How can we achieve energy security and net zero at the same time? What progress will innovative partnerships bring? In the afternoon, eight specialist conferences (innovation forums) will delve deeper into and discuss key sustainability topics, e.g. patents and sustainable innovations, sustainable urban logistics and circular economy for batteries.
Sustainable agriculture and other topics
On Thursday, September 7, the main program will feature high-level subject matter experts discussing the following topics: How do we achieve comprehensively sustainable agriculture? How will we feed ourselves healthily and sustainably in the future? How do we advance the circular economy and decarbonization? Martin Candinas, President of the National Council, will honor the commitment of the participants with a welcoming speech. In the afternoon, eight innovation forums will again discuss burning sustainability issues in depth. Examples are: How do we get to radical innovation for the circular economy in cities and municipalities? How can we reduce the flood of waste in the healthcare sector? How can we drive forward climate protection in a concrete and economic way?
As on Wednesday, the third day of the Swiss Green Economy Symposium will end with a networking aperitif starting at 5 p.m., accompanied by fine live music. Because the organizers are convinced that it is much easier to get involved in sustainability with a zest for life.
