Nexplore Introduces Annual Rotation of the Chair of the Board of Directors
The Thun-based IT company Nexplore is setting a new standard in leadership culture: The board of directors is introducing an annual rotation for the positions of chair and vice chair. Brigitte Hulliger will assume the role of chair, and Oliver Blindenbacher will serve as vice chair.

At its board of directors meeting on July 1, 2026, the Thun-based IT company Nexplore decided to rotate the positions of chair and vice chair of the board of directors on an annual basis going forward. The motion was proposed by Daniel Aebersold—after just one year in office as chair. The Board of Directors approved the proposal; Aebersold will remain a member of the board.
Change as an attitude, not as a reaction
The idea behind the model is programmatic: «Change shouldn’t happen only when it becomes necessary, but precisely when everything is going well,» Aebersold explains. The move is thus not seen as a reaction to a crisis, but as a conscious effort to further develop the corporate culture.
Brigitte Hulliger, who is taking over as chair effective immediately, sees the rotation model as a logical continuation of Nexplore’s fundamental organizational philosophy: «In our Holacracy-based organization, a rotation is therefore a natural fit.» Oliver Blindenbacher will serve as vice chair.
Holacracy as a Framework
Since 2019, Nexplore has been organized according to the Holacracy model—without a CEO and without a traditional hierarchy. Under this model, the Board of Directors’ Executive Committee primarily fulfills a legally mandated function and does not hold a special position in day-to-day operations compared to the other board members. Against this backdrop, the rotation model does not appear to be a break with tradition, but rather a logical continuation of an already established practice.
For over 25 years, Nexplore has been supporting organizations in their digital transformation—from strategic planning through implementation to secure operations. Approximately 180 employees at the Thun, Bern, Basel, and Zurich locations develop customized software solutions and digitize processes, with a focus on digitization consulting, Modern Work, and Data & Analytics.
